Despite the hushed conversation she overheard, neither Bodhi nor Xaden bring up whatever they are considering telling her. Instead, they seem to be set on ruining her as thoroughly as they can. The depravity of the cousins knows no bounds, and yet Violet is more and more drawn to them each day she spends in their company. It’s disconcerting and makes her feel like she’s betraying all her morals. Her dragons soothe her, though she notices they’re more careful with their words than usual. She can’t blame them.

Can i shamelessly beg the Xaden x Violet x Liam/Bodhi writer girlies for something??

Whenever we get one of these trios, it’s usually Xaden being the dom, Violet the sub, and Liam/Bodhi the (bratty) switch.

Love this, 12/10.

Buuut please. i’m begging. Can someone make Xaden squirm for once? Let the two subs team up and edge him as payback with the thrill that all three know Xaden will make them pay for it three times over.

The sanctuary of Dunne is nothing like Violet expected.

Built on a high peak, it’s like a small fortress – apt for a goddess of war she supposes – and easily defensible. The stone walls are thick and the furnishings austere compared to the temples Violet has seen during her life. Attached to the temple is a living space designed for multiple people, with comfortable rooms, fireplaces and a central kitchen. It’s functional, neat, sturdy. Xaden and Bodhi dropped their packs in a room clearly made for leadership, the only one with a proper mattress, sheets folded neatly in a linen cabinet in the corner of the room.

She supposes she’ll sleep in there too, under watch.

“I knew you’d run,” Xaden bites out. “But I wanted to give you the benefit of doubt. Bodhi thought you wouldn’t. He’s not going to be happy with you.”

Oh, there’s plenty of meaningful glances and loaded silences. But they speak too freely, which means they don’t intend to let her go.  Or they really intend to convince her to stay.
