Softcult - Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle (Nirvana Cover)

This is undoubtedly the best cover of this song I've ever heard. Arguably even better than the original and I've always been a massive fan of Nirvana. Softcult is insanely underrated and deserve infinite love for creating such beautiful music. I highly recommend checking them out. 🖤🫶🏻🖤

Following a series of EP reissues, Ontario shoegaze siblings Softcult are kicking off 2025 with more silvery etherics in this new cut from their upcoming album, as yet untitled.

Back are the mellowed vocal highs, cymbals splashed into thin mists, chorus pedalled guitars exhumed straight from the musical closets of the ‘90s 4AD roster. “No more promises of better days, yeah / and the future feels so far away” they sing, conjoined in a fugue state of looping echoes swirling in a soft void. In short, this is everything good in the world and it will heal me.
