Eric Carle, Author of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar,’ Dies at 91

A self-described “picture writer,” he wrote and illustrated more than 70 books for young children, selling more than 170 million copies.

Such very sad news. 

My children adored his books growing up. ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ was the first book my ASD son reacted to. He adores it to this day and can recite it verbatim. He has a DVD of Eric Carle stories and has quite a few of his books on his bookcase in his room. 

He lived to a great age and his books have brought pleasure to millions of children. 

RIP Eric Carle.
