I thought Link being 10 years old in the original NES Zelda was kind of absurd but I started playing it again and y’know what, it’s fine actually, this feels like a very accurate depiction of how an elementary school-aged kid with a sword would fare wandering around in some miserable wasteland getting chased by monsters

also i know that minato deserves to be bullied for like making a 12 year old a black ops solider after his dad committed suicide his other friend used him to commit suicide and his only other friend died for him but consider that he was taught by jiraiya "if you keep being depressed youll bum people out" the toad sage so like stan generational trauma i guess?

HONESTLY YA...... lbr minato really never had a chance under jiraiya to be a fully functional empathetic person with some emotionally maturity :/
