Actually, It would’ve been more fitting for the plot if Harold was the one who died and TM chose his voice instead. I mean after all, he was the one who created TM in the first place. Root was indeed driven toward it and considered it a God, but....ugh. Who am I kidding? I just didn’t want her to fucking die!

from what I just watched I don't think root is alive... I'm so fuckin upset, but i gotta say it was a damn good episode.
