Alfred had told him that this was a good way to introduce yourself to other people’s family members. A joke to break this ice. This is why Yao does not tell jokes. Jokes get him in trouble.

Now, Jose was one for jokes-- except for ones that involve his sister. Especially any vulgar ones. He cleared his throat, gesturing for Yao to enter his home. They can be civil. Right after he sends a quick text to his sister. “Mhm,sí.” He nodded, unsure how to bring about this conversation without being rude. “¿Pero por qué?”
