I am a homeowner!!!

Remember that scene in Sex and the City when Miranda bought her first place?  She had to check the "single" box on some paperwork and had an anxiety attack about it.  I did not have an anxiety attack, but I was shocked at the amount of pages and number of signatures required to confirm that yes, in fact, I am a single woman buying a home alone.  I bought a house and I didn't even need a penis to do it!!!  I felt like such a feminist in that moment.  A feminist wearing yoga pants.  That's right Ang, I signed a stack of professional documents wearing stretchy, comfortable, Peter Pan pants.  Please don't tell Joan Rivers.

The world got a little less funny last Thursday when we lost the one and only Joan Rivers.  At the age of 81, Joan didn't miss a beat.  From her standup routines, to interviews, to hosting E! Fashion Police, she said what everyone was thinking, except she actually had the balls to say it.  Cursing like a sailor and ripping celebs wardrobe fails to pieces, Joan Rivers was a woman who paved the way for so many female comedians that followed.  

She joked about having a Hollywood "star-studded" funeral when her time came...and her pride and joy Melissa saw to it that she got just that and more. Joan's Mount Sanai private room was decked out in floral arrangements, plants, and bows, by the famous Preston Bailey.  Melissa also made sure that her mother's glam squad was there for hair and make-up while she rested and accepted visitors during her final days.

Broadway legend Audra McDonald and Hugh Jackman both sang at Joan's service which was attended by celebs and close friends like Whoopi, Howard Stern, SJP, Diane Sawyer, Kathie Lee & Hoda, Joy Behar, Carolina Herrara, and more.  Her E! family from Terrance Jenkins, Alicia Quarles, and of course her Joan Rangers: G, Kelly, & George were all there to say goodbye to their beloved matriarch.

Red carpets were forever changed when the question "who are you wearing", created by Joan, became the quintessential introduction for red carpet interviews.

To the woman who rocked out in style, until her last breathe, Joan, you will be missed.
