His book "The Animator's Survival Kit" was indispensable (along with "The Illusion Of Life"), and his master class videos opened my eyes to how an animator should think. I remember he completely took away my fear of animating animals and insects. His absolute passion for his work (especially in the crazy "Who Framed Roger Rabbit") was infectious, and made me want to drown inside my lightbox. In college, we were required to get the #animatorssurvivalkit textbook for the animation classes, and after the class were were advised to hold on to it. This void is so essential to create an amazing sense of flow and motion, even in still pictures. So even though you may be gone, you are still teaching students how to bring life to pictures. Whether it is in Raggedy Ann and Andy A Musical Adventure, The Thief and the Cobbler, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, or any of his short films, #richardwilliams created an incredible legacy in art, animation and filmmaking.
