Nothing like an awesome PR with your crew to start your weekend off right! 1st female, 6th overall Merry-Go-Run 5K 19:40 but watch had 2.9 so prob right around 20.... which is an over 2 MIN PR for me.... ever!!! Super stoked and even more PROUD of my Team RipXFit- who won fastest team! My kids Diego and Pedro got 2nd in the 5K and 1mile, Rich got 3rd and a bunch of our members got super impressive Age group podiums! Well one of two outcomes was definitely achieved and man, did that mountain humble me! It’s been two years since I have ran a Beast and this one did not disappoint. Absolutely drop dead gorgeous venue, treacherous terrain and insane competition- I’ll happily take my 24th Elite female at the North American Spartan Champion spot and call it a day! 😜💪⛰Oh, and I qualified for Tahoe and completed my first Trifecta for the year so there’s that too..😀!!! . . . . . . SPARTAN Charlotte Sprint First race of season in the books! Some victories and some failures… Last year I failed to accomplish the wet monkey bars and the new twister. Thanks to my new coach JP, I have a better understanding of grip and bar technique. This race I tried a new shoe from Hoka One One called the Evo Jawz. The shoe was great till the rope climb. Massive grip underneath but a very smooth upper that simply allowed the rope to slide between my feet. Four rope changes in mid-air till inevitably dropping and moving over to 30 penalty burpees. I was spent by the next obstacle and really need to work on technique with rings. Truthfully, I barely made the multi-rig last year due to the rings. As far as fitness goes, I believe in being truthful with myself and I’m slightly overweight. Discipline comes in to play here and that’s all on me! At the end of the day, my results where simple marginal IMO. The goal was a 55 minute finish and I pushed through with a 1:04 32/135ish. It’s not a bad finish but certainly not a podium. I turn 50 next month and things definitely turn in my favor when that day comes. Thanks for following!!! ~CHEERS
