All for Senpai
“The most important part of making tea is the seeping process. You mustn’t serve the tea too early or too late.” Yuuki stood watching over the cup of tea that the violinist had asked for. “Look, you can see the water getting darker, that’s a good sign. However, it will take you some time to be able to spot the perfect time to serve the tea.”
Hikari stood farther down the counter; staff paper was placed in front of her. She closed her eyes and tapped her foot to the imaginary beat. “One and two and-“
“Hikari-san, are you listening to me?” he asked. Why had she asked for him to teach her how to make tea if she wasn’t actually interested in listening?
“I’m listening, Yuuki-kun. I’m just working on a piece for Riruko-senpai.” She said, without missing a beat.
“Hikari-san, you cannot fully understand and appreciate the art of tea making without watching the process –start to finish.” Yuuki said, cross his arms over his chest.
“Shh,” she shushed the analyst, holding her hand up to show that she was serious. She picked up the pencil next to the staff paper and began drawing notes –quarter, half, triplets. The music flowed from her mind right through her hand to the paper.
“It’s done!” Their voices echoed through the kitchen.
A smile stretched across Hikari’s face. It was perfect. After staying up all night with her violin in hand, she’d finally found the right notes –the song that perfectly fit her senpai. Picking up the paper, she had to get her violin and find Riruko.
“Hikari-san, the tea is finished.” Yuuki said, watching the girl as she stopped dead in her tracks.
“Oh, right. Thank you for the tea Yuuki-kun.” Hikari said, turning around to the cup the tea was in. She dashed out the door, “Riruko-senpai, I finished that song! And I made you a cup of tea!”

"Hi!" The chipper lieutenant smiled, waving at the unknown boy in her presence. "Thanks for visiting me! What's up?"
