genryusai-yamamoto entered the Squad 11 barracks
âHey Gramps!â Yachiru jumped down from a tree close to the entrance, where she had been watching a fight. So far, they were looking good. Learning not to hesitate as much when combining multiple attacks. âYou got any new missions for Kenny and me? â mun: Sorry if you followed me a while back, my feed is telling me you just did. >.> It's been pretty glitchy lately.

riruko entered your cotton-candy colored domain
âHi!â The chipper lieutenant smiled, waving at the unknown boy in her presence. âThanks for visiting me! Whatâs up?â
He gave a slight nod. âMy pleasure.â He murmured softly. âI suppose nothing new, is up.â He raised his eyebrows at the word âupâ and smiled politely. âHow about you?âÂ
âNot much at all, unfortunately.â A sigh escaped her lips as her fingers crept into the desk drawer to her left, pulling out a couple of candy bars. She slid one to Riruko and tore off the brightly colored wrapper, taking a small bite out of it. Yum. Human candy. For some reason, she would never get over how much better the sweets were in Karakura Town than the Soul Society. Not like that would stop her. Sugar was all she lived on, after all. âI would try and offer to entertain you, but yâsee, itâs kinda boring around here.â Yachiru grinned a bit, motioning to a tiny window behind her, up a couple feet and slightly to the left. From the opening, many yelling voices could be heard, boasting about skill and power or getting into fights. âUnless youâd like to spar or something, thereâs nothing to do around here. When not fighting or sleeping, theyâre drunk!â She laughed, which sounded almost like a bell ringing. Very unlike the one she used when irritating others, like Ikkaku or Mayuri. âHave any ideas?â Yes, with the lack of people around the âteenâ age in the Soul Society, the Squad 11 lieutenant often struggled with coming up with things to absorb her attention. Boredom was a constant friend, it seemed.
Riruko took the candy only to stare at it while she spoke. Her voice was cheerful and girly, and it appeared to be that she loved to talk. A talkative one, he laughed to himself. He watched the female take a bite out of the candy and her expression changed to something of a pleased look. Twirling the candy in his fingers, he replied, âYou donât need to be doing anything to entertain me,â he smiled softly. âAs for sparring, I will pass.â
He chuckled and opened the wrapper to the candy. He liked her laughter. âI will do anything as you please, Iâm not much of a entertainer myself.â The candy peaked out from under the wrapper, and hesitantly he took a bite. After becoming a male, he wasnât as fond of sweets as he used to back when he was a female. âYou do not like sleeping, or getting drunk along with your friends?â He asked.Â
âSleeping is fine, but being drunk is something Iâll pass on. I feel as if Iâm going to look stupid, like everyone else.â There was only one time, by accident that the female had gotten drunk, and that was the /biggest/ mistake of her life. Luckily, the few around her didnât remember it all too much, and in truth, neither did she. Breaking off another piece of the candy, she slipped the shard into her mouth, thoughtfully and softly chewing it before speaking again. âI dunno. I guess relaxing is kinda nice, but I just canât see how people can do it all the time. Like Shun-shun.â The Captain of Squad 8 always seemed to be napping or relaxing, and while she had grown out of her hyperactive crack-child phase when her physical appearance changed, her energy level was still often high. Staying in one place for too long just didnât please her. âOh, by the way, Iâm Yachiru. And you areâŚ?â Her eyes ran over the man in front of her in an observant way. Despite her immature tactics at times, she took note of many things people forgot. And wow. He was cute, to say the least. This didnât show up on her face though, the thought only appearing and disappearing within a second as she pushed it to the back of her mind, focusing with the task at hand.
âHonestly,â He started, leaning on the wall next to him. âI have never been drunk.â It was true, the Fullbringer had never been drunk. Not even when he was a female. It was just something that never occurred to him. Maybe one day, he might try it.Â
The candy slowly melted in his mouth, itâs sticky sweetness not doing so well with his taste buds. Wincing slightly, he swallowed it and placed the candy aside. âI am Riruko.â He noticed the femaleâs eyes observing him and a slight smirk danced on his lips. He did the same to her, noticing her long pink hair with innocent brown eyes. âWe could get to know each other more, if you wouldnât mind.â He whispered.Â
"Trust me. It's not fun. Especially when you don't know it." Waking up with a pounding headache on the floor of her room the next day wasn't too pleasant. She wondered how so many people like Rangiku, Shuhei, and even Izuru did it often. She spotted him wince and was about to ask if he was okay. No one she had ever met disliked candy. Oh my god, if he was allergic......but then he spoke, and her worry disappeared. Good. He was okay. "Well it's nice to meet you!" Yachiru cheerfully exclaimed, just glad to see him okay. As she heard Riruko's hushed tone, a faint blush appeared on her cheeks, much like the permanent one she had worn as a child. "I-I wouldn't mind at all." She managed to get out, wondering why it was slightly hard to breathe now. The hell?! This never happened to her. Ever.
Smart enough to disappear when she angered him, her voice erupted from a section across the room from the sadistic scientist, his voice audible even from underground. âOr I become one of your test subjects?â Now she was just playing with him. He had threatened both Yachiru herself and Kenpachi numerous times, the heads of Squad 11 who loved to irritate him. âMayurin, donât be silly, youâd have to find me first!~â
With an eye twitch, he stood up from his desk and put both hands down on his desk. He glared down hard at his desk and swallowed, clearly trying to fight back all the possible insults he was thinking of. He hated this girl with absolutely nopassion. It was just a hate fueled by nothing except more hate. âYou stupid girlâŚ!â he muttered angrily under his breath before he turned away from his desk and commanded loudly, âI am not bothering to search for you!
Despite his words, he took a cautious step away from his desk as if his entire lab floor were covered in mines.
Yachiru wasn't even near his desk anymore, luckily for him. Her feet had taken her to the underground equivalent of the opposite side of the room. "Aw, you're no fun! Don'tcha wanna figure out where my secret candy stash is down here?" She knew he didn't really, /ever/, but it was still fun to hear his reaction. Plus, now that she thought about it, in all of the years that she had known the current 12th Division captain, not once did she ever see him eat. Maybe he kept food in like...a pocket of a replaceable stomach? Who knows. She would ask, because if she was lucky, which she wouldn't be, she would get some sort of answer. "Hey! Do you replace your stomach often with like, new ones with food inside? 'Cause I never see you eat, and that seems like something you would do!" It was rumored that he replaced his limbs often, so why not internal organs? It was possible, she guessed.
âOf course, and Iâm really happy for her that she does so much. But she needs to relax a bit! She wouldnât even let us have âNanao Dayâ in the club to thank her for her work!â Her rose tinted lips formed a frown when she thought back to what had happened a couple of weeks ago. The 8th Division lieutenant had said âNoâ right on the spot, and when the members tried to drag her, a heavy book over the head is what each female received.Â
âMaybe. At least theyâre not boasting about how theyâre always the best.â The girl cracked a smile, giving up on her cocky subordinates after all of those years. Let them get beaten up for their big mouths. She had tried once in the beginning by beating them in a fight when each and every one of them showed up. Forgetting that the captain took a lot of naps, Yachiru sighed, her eyes meeting his. âAm I interrupting one of your naps, Shun-shun? Iâm sorry.â The second in command could relate, as she was like the reincarnation of the devil when woken up too soon.
He blinked.
âOf course, and Iâm really happy for her that she does so much. But she needs to relax a bit! She wouldnât even let us have âNanao Dayâ in the club to thank her for her work!â
Nanao Day? He could only guess what happened on âNanao Dayâ and all his guesses came back as something perpetually disastrous for his lieutenant. He silently came to the conclusion that it was probably better off for the rest of Soul Society if there werenât holidays dedicated to her. Scratching behind his head again, he laughed at her comment.
âWell, in regards to your âNanao Dayâ⌠Just give her some time. Maybe sheâll come around.â He shrugged. âIâm assuming your subordinates give you a hard time,â he commented in relation to her previous comment about the boasting. It wasnât a surprise that theyâd act like that. They were from the 11th Division, after all. He looked down at her and heard her sigh. âInterruptinâ?â he asked, giving off a hint of confusion before he patted her lightly on the top of her head. âNah. Iâm not too tired today.â
"Maybe. We even had cake and e'erything for her!" A giant book shaped cake, along with other types of sweets were prepared for her, only to find that they weren't going to be used for the purposes they were designed for. Nevertheless, the women took advantage of the large amounts of food, eating until they couldn't hold any more. And of course, Rangiku didn't fail to make use of the vast quantities of sake she had brought, though nobody else but her drank except out of politeness.
"Eh. Used to it. Not so much /me/, but they sure give each other a hard time!" She laughed too, having watched so many fights between them over the many years of supervising the 11th Division. Her smile continued as she heard his last comment, nodding. "Oh, good. I would hate to be the one to be waking you up from your sleep!"
Hidden Abilities: Two Members of Squad 11's secrets. //@minakohitsugaya
//Okay. SoâŚyour posts will be bold, mine will be italics, and then just respond normally after. Weâll be able to tell then. ^.^// It was rather late at night, the moon was shining as the stars danced in the night time sky. The stars twinkled and danced as she moved gracefully across the water creating ripples as she did. She was using the âpurestâ form of her shikai, also known as her âPrincess Formâ. The bladed shoes she usually has in shikai can no longer be seen even though they are still there. She had removed the ribbons from her hair, allowing her long dark purple hair to be free and flow down to her upper/mid back. Her trademark box floated above her head, acting like a Halo and ready to use as an attack or shield on her command. She twirled and spun a golden staff that had a heart in the center in her hands as she moved across the crystal water. Occasionally, the mirror in the center of the glass would reflect a bit of the moonlight.

Minako returned the smile, âItâs no problem Yachi-chan.â
She then stood to her feet, with her golden heart topped staff in hand with her box floating above her head. The young shinigami then began to explain since she could tell her friend, âAs you already know⌠I have my box. Which is â in a way â part of my zanpaktou but not exactly one of my zanpaktouâs abilities.â she then moved her finger and the box followed. Her box was a mixture of being a personal ability, and part of her zanpaktou. It could store an infinite amount of items and they will never come out unless they are pulled out. The box then changed in size and was rectangular, almost like a door and was closed. âIâm not sure if I told you⌠but the reason it can store so much is that it is also a portal to my inner world.â she then opened it to reveal what appeared to be a lake and if ne listened closely, they could hear âI can even take people inside. But they have to be careful⌠It is pretty much all water and the water is very sensitive so sometimes you might fall through.â Minako explained. Her inner world only had one piece of solid land that wasnât part of the waterfalls and that was a rather small rock that was large enough for about 2 or three people to sit on.
Minako only had roughly⌠Four abilities for her shikai. Her augmentative form which she was currently in, an ability which could be used as an offensive or defensive, and an attack that is meant to kill which she rarely used. However, there was also a secret forth ability⌠Although, Minako herself didnât consider it to be one that came from her zanpaktou.

Nodding, she thought about her inner world for a bit. Minako could take people into her inner world? That was so cool! But truthfully, Yachiru wouldnât like people to visit her inner world. If they happened to, it would be a lot of work, and no one could guarantee their own safety. The complete opposite of what one would expect, the cheery girlâs inner world was mostly pitch black, her zanpaktou spirit a graceful, cat-like woman glowing pink. The only light in that world without sight. No, even though she would love to look into one of her best friendâs inner world, it was a place for that person, and that person alone.

Minako nodded, âYeah.. Itâs like a gamble⌠You donât know whether or not you will hit the right mark so you only take it when there is other option.â
Kido and Kido-like abilities were made fun of in the 11th division. Although Minako wasnât quite sure why, she didnât question it and instead chose to hide them - especially considering many of the members often taunted her about her small size, passive nature, and unwillingness to fight. She didnât need them to add anything else to that list by showing off her zanpaktouâs abilities. Which is why she often chose to do most of her actual training under the cover of the moonlight; when most of the divisionâs members were passed out drunk.

The reason was both their specialty, their reputation, and in some ways, could even be traced back to Kenpachi, although not purposefully. For the captain, he wasnât a big believer in the art, choosing to only use it if in a life-or-death situation. Since all the subordinates were âunified as one under Captain Zaraki,â as said by themselves, they often followed along. But as the âswords-onlyâ fighting specialty division, it had made every other combat, in their eyes, weaker by leaps and bounds. Squad 11, known as the manliest squad, also seemed to always attract cocky recruits too, which didnât help kido or kido-esque abilities get a good reputation.

Minako had known that pretty much all the subordinates followed Kenpachi and Yachiruâs example when it came to fighting. Minako was one who didnât; although it wasnât a case of not wanting to⌠She did, however, knew that she simply wasnât strong enough to drag out a fight⌠Plus, she simply didnât feel that she could drag out a fight. Many of the members made it known that they didnât like, or too much respect the young female because she was from the second division. However, Minako often ignored them since many of them; despite being the âmanliestâ division, couldnât hold up against her when she caught them hand to hand which often peaked Minakoâs curiosity. Even though she knew that her fighting style was considered cowardly, she still continued to use it⌠Although she had a few comebacks for when they called her out on it, she decided not to use them and take small bits of their pride.
Luckily, Yachiru didnât allow Minakoâs fighting style stand in the way of their friendship. Had it not been for Yachiru, Minako most likely would have left the 11th not long after joining and never would have grown her hair out of the short style it was in. She probably would have just returned to the second division or even retired from being a shinigami. So, she valued their friendship more than pretty much anything.

"But wouldn't Rich Boy's voice be bad for assassination too?" She laughed lightly, thinking about how her fellow lieutenant always seemed to be bragging or complaining. "Or maybe it's too pretty for battle. Y'know, if someone less powerful than me saw your shikai, they might turn to stone in its pure beauty." Yachiru was kidding, obviously about herself, but Minako's shikai was something you'd only dream about in what the humans called "Fairy Tales." Glittery, magical, and with abilities you could only dream to create. Kind of like Aizen's, if he didn't turn evil.
"That's fine. You shouldn't train with the others, anyways. The recruits are annoying, the non-seated wouldn't challenge you, and even some of the seated still have those qualities. The only person under you, rank wise, that you should train with is Yun-yun. He's really powerful." It's true, Minako and Yumichika would probably be neck-to-neck in competition for the 4th seat, if Yumichi's love of beauty didn't make him the 5th seat, finding the number 4 "too ugly."
"Don't listen to the bakas of our division. You outrank them anyways, so it's not so bad if you prove it a couple times." Yachiru wasn't ever made fun of, since her anger was known around the squad. Plus, they loved her like a little sister of some sort, due to her childish personality. It never stopped them from harassing others, like Yumichika though, for his love of beauty and fashion choices. He had shown them a couple times just why he was higher up than them, and those who he lashed out against never spoke of it again.
"Yes. You must get better with swords." She sighed, knowing everyone could get better. Even high-ranking officers. "People will start to wonder why you're at such a high rank here, or even here in the "swords only combat" specialty division. But don't worry. I'll be there to help you. Every step of the way."~
