Visiting Home: Gongaga || RaisedTurk&Risa-Fair
He was not sure how he felt at the moment. Being able to say that he was going home after so long was a relief, but at the same time it brought on more worries. There were going to be changes in Gongaga. It had been nearly a decade... No, more than that, since he had been home. Seven plus years since he had written to his parents due to being in that experiment - minus the one he had sent the day before - then, then there was the whole being dead for however long. People had told him but he still could not seem to wrap his head around the number.
Going across the plains was easier than he remembered. Then again, the last time he had made this walk (in the opposite direction) he had been thirteen, so it was no surprise. He did not want to count the time where he had simply passed through Gongaga, that memory was just a bit too painful for him. Though he had a feeling he was going to need to bring it up to show to his parents that he had at least tried to get there. And he would have had an unconscious man with him. That would have raised questions Zack would not have been able to answer then. But now that he was out of Shinra, now that he was trying to cut his ties, surely speaking about what they had done to him and Cloud would not result in too drastic measures being done against him.
The land really was a wasteful one. As Zack continued to tread down the road he almost instinctively knew --
Okay he looked at a map before he left
-- He would glance around at points he tried to remember. But it seemed as if almost everything was destroyed. he wondered briefly how far this destruction went, and how badly other cities were effected. Granted, he highly doubted nowhere was free of at least some of the aftermath of Meteor. The Planet was in pain, and so were the people.
But Zack was not going to let that get him down. At least now that he was getting a chance to get out away from Midgar and back home, he would be able to see the vast differences, and then figure out where to go from. He needed to find out a real purpose for being there. Adding a few here and there could not hurt.
He almost missed the vibrating in his pocket due to the thoughts that kept crossing over his mind as he walked. Nearly grinning, thinking it was his blond spiky friend, Zack pulled his phone out of his pocket without looking at the number, and answered with his normal cheerful demeanor.Â
"Yo! Zack here, what's up?"
