'I don't want to leave...'
(Ghost of a Prince -1)
The dungeon was freezing cold and dark, the stone floor stained with blood. Roman had no energy to move from where he was, slumped on the floor where Lucien had left him even though it was freezing. The entity had taunted him as he left him fatally wounded after draining all his magic...
"What a wonderful gift to Virge - I will let him find you, little Prince. You will be pale and lifeless...and Virgil will love it." Lucien cooed.
Roman groaned, voice weak as tears fell down his cheeks, his green eyes full of sorrow and desperation. He shuddered, breath hitching, he felt trapped in his own body as he tried to hold on for his love.
He tried to fight the darkness pulling him under, hands pressing to his chest to try to slow the blood flow in vain. Everything had hurt but now he just felt hollow...
He shivered, remembering the feeling of his magic and what Virgils energy that remained in his body, being viciously torn from him.
He thought of Virgil...his strong and lovely Dark Prince. His love. Roman wanted to cry, wondering if this cold dungeon would be the last thing he saw, if he would fall asleep and that would be it. Roman remembered the look in Virgils eyes - his beloved wouldn't leave him here to...to die. His Virgil was stubborn, so determined and protective of him.
He would come for him, just like Lucien planned.
He didn't want to leave. His heart broke at the knowledge that Virgil was going to find him, pale, battered, lifeless and drenched in his own blood in this dark cell.
He failed his love.
He didn't want to die, for his death to be used to break his beloved. He wanted to stay, to protect and love Virgil. To have the happily ever after they both wanted...
Roman could feel his consciousness fading and tried to hold on but he was helpless, having nothing left to give. All the cold and all thought melted away and it was blissfully dark...
