"Logically, I'm know I couldn't have saved the boy at the time but I keep going into hypotheticals and replaying it, over and over." (Takumi in therapy talking about WWII)
"You're stuck in a loop, what if I did this, what if I did that, what if I made this choice instead. You couldn't have saved the boy, you knew this, what would the risk be if you tried, what might happen instead?"
"You did what you could, replaying it over and over won't change the past, if anything you're tormenting yourself with the hypotheticals and thoughts. What's done is done and I know that doesn't help at all when your mind is stuck on what you could have done and the guilt, its a spiral."
"I'm going to give you methods to ground yourself when these thoughts come up. The goal is to help you get out of that spiral, prevent it from getting worse once they start, sound alright?"
