On March 20, 1976, Arkansas governor, David Pryor declared March 20th as Johnny Cash Day. The festivities started in Kingsland, AR where Johnny and his family boarded the SL&SW Cotton Belt train to Rison. He was greeted by a large crowd and presented with the key to the city. Johnny was the Grand Marshal of a parade that traveled along Main Street to the Rison High School, where he performed a concert for 10,000 fans.
