My favorite recent find… I’ve had this record on my list for a good while, and this second pressing just showed up at Vinyl Heaven. Sounds incredible. 50s rock & roll can easily sound tame, but you combine an amazing performer like Ritchie Valens with a great fidelity reproduction, no layers of preservation and attempted remastering between you and the music… fireworks! My love for this tragic rock hero only increases. I am forever squinting at this album cover going “how is he 17?” He looks at LEAST 30… and the back of the jacket talks about him as if he’s alive even though the album came out a month after his death.
