"I saw you liked classic toys, so look, I made you a gift!"

*The little human girl holds out a nesting doll. It resembles a human in a white outfit. She opens the nesting doll to reveal another - the smaller one clearly made in likeness to a chest burster*

"See? It's just like you! Isn't it cute?"

“Oh wow!” She squealed. “It’s a little person with a tiny Chestburster!”

Rittzi took it gently. “It reminds me of my mother… I miss her a lot. This is so nice. Thanks!”

“Ohhhh! You like worms? I started out as a worm! I was only like… three and a quarter feet long!”

What... I'm only five feet tall and started as a very not-wormy nineteen-inch newborn! That is amazing...

“Me? I’m Rittzi! I live on a science station. I grew up there with my family! And um… my mother was named Lorah Burns but she died after I was born from her chest. Thanks for asking! What is your deal?”

Uh, that's complicated. Yeah, I suppose? They're not trying to be subtle about it so I don't really have the choice of pretending they're not there, but I'm not sure what's going on. I mean, look at me and tell me I'm dead! I'm more alive then ever.

“What kinds of worms did you farm? Earth worms?”

Yes! Specifically Red Wigglers, which come from all around Earth. They've also been introduced to Yeniria and are probably damaging to the O-horizon, but they can't survive natural conditions for long enough to actually establish wild population. Even though nothing here wants to eat them, I think the soil is the wrong pH or something.

👓Jed still didn't understand this place. He had his camera, his notebook, and a pen that he was nibbling on it while walking. He suddenly bumped into a giant creature. He staggered back, was this thing like the other creatures and killers here? Wouldn't hurt him? He kept stepping backwards, "I'm so sorry! I didn't see you there! P-please don't hurt!" He held up his hands in hopes this creature wouldn't hurt him👓

“Huh? O-oh… I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to get in your way!” Rittzi squeaked, hopping up a bit. Her tail curled around her legs, and she tried to make herself seem a bit smaller. “I- I won’t hurt you! B-but please don’t scream… um… I have sandwiches. Do you want one?” She clawed through her satchel and found one, holding out a baggy with a PBJ sandwich inside.
