aesthetic: with Phillipa Soo. she’s a selling pointtttt
I’m surprised Hamilton isn’t in bigger letters than Amelie tbh.

I yelped
He’s so awful and I hate him.
headcanon: theo and angie have been in gymnastics together since angie was 6 (but theo's been going since she was 4)
Theo is obviously a prodigy and her dad is really hard on her to be the best. She’s the first at the gym in the morning and the last to leave and it is her entire life. To the point that she can’t see anything else in her life. She’s so focused it’s almost scary. This is her life and this is everything.
Angelica is shy and basically has to put on a character to perform. She’s good. She could be great. She wants to be great. But she also has more of a life outside of the sport, in part because she’s got a big family. She’ll never be the sole center of attention. Her parents can only afford so much, and they won’t consider sending her away. She gets great because Theo pushes her to it. Theo gets some happiness because Angelica won’t let her think gymnastics is the whole world.
They’ve got each other’s routines memorized and are always close by during competitions. Theo has to forget her dad and the pressure and focus on the one person she perceives doesn’t care how she does. Angelica, meanwhile, needs to believe as many people as possible are on her side: she has to hear her parents and siblings and Theo. Theo is one less person who is judging her in that stadium.

one of my fave parts about this DVDs commentary thing is that now i know everyone else obsesses over the same lines I do
I love seeing what lines people latch on to! In this one, I always felt stung by Hamilton saying she was being pathetic. And, like, I know I wrote it? But like, I still think about that and go “ouch.” lmao.
Like, I just think of her trying to be...I don’t even know! A vixen? Just into different positions? Wearing something sexier (in her mind--because I also love in this fic that he thinks it’s hot when she’s in mom mode)? She’s just trying desperately to feel wanted. And it’s that sad little pathetic thing when you’re doing something fruitless because she doesn’t get what was motivating him.
And you know, Eliza does know her worth. But there’s a difference between knowing your worth, asserting it, and then forgiving someone and then the practical stuff. And I’m interested in THAT. What is it like the first time you sleep with your husband after he’s admitted to an affair? What does that feel like and what’s going through your head?
Being with him and forgiving him is her choice and she made it and she won’t take it back. But that doesn’t stop the hurt and the feelings of inadequacy that maybe she didn’t even expect to feel until the moment they came.
