hl2vrai preparation checklist

(aka supplementary material for the og series that will probably be important to watch for context or just other fun in-universe shenanigans)

hlvrai, obviously. the cut down versions on wayne's youtube we know and love

hlage. wayne/gordon again (yes, really). but this time with a gnome inside half-life alyx. this one is amazing and it's a travesty that a lot of the fanbase hasn't watched it. the structure is a bit different (wayne/gordon doesn't attempt to play a character this time, since the gnome is already too aware. like the title). theres a lot of world building that will probably apply to hl2vrai, and also the finale is an actual masterpiece

chronicles of benry (scorpy). takes place after hlvrai, basically benry’s thoughts/purgatory after being killed. there are two versions of this, scorpy's version is shorter and there's a lot of benry lore tidbits for you to try and figure out. scorpy released a physical vhs version, its out of stock currently but apparently has extra content

ai crushes all banks. a fundraiser stream where the science team play payday 2 and rob banks. it’s super fun and also benry shows up. linked a fan highlight edit if you just want that part bc the og stream went on for super long, but there were also segments of that where they looked at fanart and stuff

hlvrai full vods. the uncut, og version of the series. a lot of stuff got cut out that is honestly pretty important to the series (wayne/gordon explaining its a game he's beta testing in the beginning and other stuff along those lines). also a lot of funny lines and characterization more people should see

chronicles of benry (holly). holly's version is longer, but also super fun and great for lore. benry playing touys the movie

hlvrai cast commentaries. has a lot of fun behind the scenes stuff. a bit long, but there are fan highlight versions.

hlage cast commentaries. same as the last, but for hlage. also a fan highlight for this.

hlvrai qna. on wayne's vod channel, just rtvs answering fans questions about the series/characters that i wish more people knew about cause theres some fun stuff in there

hlage full vods. i wanted to include this for completionists sake but the yt version is basically the full experience, nothing too important got cut out. only the first 3 acts

look at all that content and we haven't even gotten the sequel yet! ive seen a lot of people on the tags who are coming back to the fandom and maybe caught up on everything, so i hope this helps! i meant to do this sooner so people would have time to watch everything or at least most things, but there's two weeks left, at least watch what you can. i ordered this in what i think is most to least important to watch. feel free to yell at me in the tags or comments if i got something wrong
