in dismissal: "Try not to die." The genuine wave she sends you mitigates how dismissive she sounds.

in dismissal: "Happy to help." Rivera winks amicably as she sees you off.

one of the running themes im weaving into my da protags as well is a water-related theme to their names that reflects something abt them and their arc.

rivera’s name relates to the drakon river and flowing Out from her home in the alienage.

mara’s name relates to oceans and bitterness, how the depth of her grief is hidden deep beneath the surface.

viorel’s is inspired by water violets, which arent Actually violets, reflective of how she isnt what she appears to be.

santana’s is admittedly the most strained— Supposedly theres a colloquial connection to saint anne and rain in italy and germany, since rain helps w agricultural growth, and im likening the idea to something positive growing from something tragic (waves my hand vaguely abt how rain is often seen as sad or negative). but that being said i cant find any real concrete sources abt that colloquialism besides a handful of blogs saying its real and my Researcher’s Instinct (tm) makes me feel conflicted abt that. but i like the name so much…

twt oomfs are probably more familiar w me referring to rivera, mara, and viorel as my bug, my bird, and my deer respectively but after putting a bit more thought into it.

rivera is actually my red fox, mara is actually my eurasian goshawk, and viorel is my reindeer. idk what my rook will be yet bc just being my crow is too on the nose for my liking and also i already have a bird

drafting fic chapter for the save anora mission and i wanted to do something w rivera remembering the layout of the arl of denerim’s estate bc of the city elf origin and i was curious so i looked up playthru videos and. you Literally run the same gamut. the room that tabris, shianni, and the other elven women are kept in is the room you walk into using the servants’ entrance.
