Tbh I’m really disappointed so far with s2 of riverdale! I started watching a few months after it had been on air after a lot of convincing from my friends...After I watched the first episode I was hooked I couldn’t get enough of the show I finished the 1st season the day I started watching it couldn’t stop talking about it. I created a fan acc and was obsessed with the show eagerly waiting for season 2...When the first episode released (I watch it on Netflix) I had school and since the new eps come out at noon I couldn’t watch it until 4pm but I was not disappointed...My head was circling w conspiracy theories and every day I used to spend hours deliberating w my friends as to what might happen...However after the 5th episode I was not as ‘shook’ or intrigued,I wasn’t as engrossed in the series.But still it being a show I loved I focused on the positives and still spoke about everything however the conversations being no where near as long as the previous conversations I had regarding the same series as the season’s progressed I’ve gotten more bored w the whole thing,I still love the show and hope that the second part will bring back everything I loved it for...The writers this season mainly focused on Bughead and Varchie which is not what riverdale is about.Riverdale is about and I quote “this story is about a town,a small town and the people who live in this town.” I haven’t fallen in love w Riverdale because of the relationships but because of the Mystery and Adventure...The main reason why I was let down by the 2nd seasons 1st part was because of the ‘big’ black hood reveal,first off let me just say that,that episode was all over the place and disappointing like 2x06. There were also parts that I was cringing at and I never thought I would EVER have such a reaction to not only 1 but multiple scenes in the episode.The fact that Svenson was not an extremely common but still common guess to the being the black hood was the first factor that let me down the second one is a problem that many people seem to have with the reveal,Svenson was introduced to the series only a few episodes before we came to know that he was the black hood which further leads to the question ‘why?’ If Svenson was the black hood he had direct access to Veronica,Jughead,Polly (at a certain point in time) and many others even Hiram when he came to meet Veronica why didn’t he attack them and why didn’t he do it then also ‘How?’ How did he know that Betty loved Nancy Drew? She loved it when she was in primary school she didn’t check out the book when she was a sophomore..I’ve read a lot of theories that Svenson isn’t the black hood and that he was a pawn, I can’t believe I’m saying this but I hope that this theory proves to be true because I would hate for such an important part of the show to leave me dissatisfied...However many negative points there were ep5 onwards,the first few episodes were amazing and truly remarkable acting from the cast.It just goes to show that riverdale has so much potential and the writers really shouldn’t ruin it with their main focus being ‘ships’.
My highlight of the 2nd season: The Jeronica talk,The entire first episode, Alice’s entrance at the Lodge’s party and finding out that Sherrif Keller and Mayor McCoy are having an affair.
