days off were few and far between for detective diego hargreeves, but they were well deserved, if you asked him (and few rarely did). it wasn't like he could lounge around the house all day, though. he just wasn't the type. trying to sleep in? it just made him more irritable than he often could be, sleep restless as it had been for as long as he could remember. that was why he'd gotten up, as early as any other day, and headed to the local pool for a swim. the calm of the water helped him forget the fuzziness in his mind, leaving his brain free and clear for when he left. feeling calmer for the most part, he made a mental list as he walked into the local grocery store, mentally cataloguing what he needed. it wasn't until halfway round the store that he came to a horrible realisation, patting himself down in search of his wallet, which was nowhere to be found on his person.
