“Ah I see,” James said standing up and making sure he had a better hold on Growley this time before he realized the man had been looking at him “Sorry, they’re homemade dog treats, I usually give them to some strays around the area.” James explained pulling the little bag out to show him, he supposed it was probably strange to have some random stranger feeding your dog. 

“Probably should have asked, i forget sometimes.”

Taking Growley for a walk was always a nice way to start the day, they’d gone walking through the park together when the leash had gotten away from him and Growley ran off, by the time James had caught up he noted that Growley ahd made a friend. James knelt down and went into his pocket finding the treats he had and offered them to the pooch patting it gently before he looked up at another person who had been there

“Sorry is he yours…?”

“I actually have never really seen a dog before.” She admitted, smiling softly. “He isn’t mine, no but if you want me to help you look for his owner, I sure don’t mind.” Lily offered.

“No that’s alright, I handle this sort of thing a lot.” James admitted continuing to pat the dog happily as he looked up at her  “he’s friendly if you wanted to pat him?” James offered of course he had always been good with animals so it didn’t bother him

The moment anyone found out who he was he expected a bit of backlash, especially if by some chance that twerp and his friends were in town they always seemed to show up where ever he went.

Lucy’s eyes went wide at the man’s sudden change of demeanor and she took a small step back.  “I’m sorry, I kind of thought it was self-explanatory.  Besides, you don’t have to answer anything you’re not comfortable answering, just say the word.”  Now more than ever she wanted to know more about him, but she could see his growing discomfort.  “Do you want to continue or should we wrap it up here?”

James wasn’t sure himself really, he obviously hadn’t meant to startle her but she was prying just a bit more than he would have liked. 

“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to startle you,” he said to her taking a breath and sighing  “If you don’t ask to personal of questions I wouldn’t mind continuing” James said already having a feeling he was going to regret it but he had already been rude to her and hoped to make up for it.

“it…rings a certain bell.” James admitted not sure what she might be getting at, it was a strange place after all but this had also been his chance to start over and so far he was happy with his life if just a bit lonely.

“If that’s the case it might be for the better don’t you think? Second chances and all that.”

“For people who want a second chance, maybe.  Not everyone does.”  She pursed her lips together.  She was happy back in Ryme City, with Tim and Psyduck.  Not stuck in a new, unfamiliar city alone.  “Is that what happened to you?  Or are you here voluntarily?”

“Um I suppose….what sort of questions?” James asked her setting a colorful bouquet down in a stand and turning so he could give her his attention better

Lucy had been trying for hours to get people to answer her questions, but so far people have been pretty dismissive.  She was obviously relieved when the man agreed.  “Thank you so much.”  She smiled.  “Um, first things first, are you aware of the fact that people are appearing here with no explanation?”

“Excuse me?”  Lucy approached the stranger, pen in hand.  It was strange doing interviews without Psyduck by her side, but if she was gonna get answers she needed to get used to it. “My name’s Lucy Stevens, I’m a journalist and I was wondering if I could ask you a couple questions about the strange phenomena surrounding this town?”

( Kento Yamazaki, Cis male, he/him, Pokemon ) WOAH, what’s JAMES FROM TEAM ROCKET doing walking around rivergate? what do you mean they WORK AS A FLORIST here? oh, well that’s crazy! now that i think of it, i hear that they’re known as the 27 year old RICH KID because they’re so + NICE, but can also be pretty - DRAMATIC. rumor has it that they DO remember who they are, but who knows? ( Sam, 24, EST, She/her )

James came to Rivergate and was totally lost when he woke up without Jessie or Meowth at first he totally panicked but once he realized that it could be a while before he found them he settled down to try to plan.

James quickly realized that in this place where only half the people have their previous memories he had the chance to start over, while he enjoyed his time on Team Rocket he knew that no one would really miss him either and if Jessie and Meowth were still back home then they’d likely get a new partner who might be a little more competent than he was.

Using the childhood memories of his grandparents home he opened a flower shop with a large green house out back and hopes that one day he might be able to show it to them, he’s very happy there and even has a dog he has affectionately named Growley after the Pokemon that helped him through his difficult childhood.

James is a little disappointed by the fact that there don’t seem to be any pokemon in this place but there are lots of other cute animals that look kind of like Pokemon but without the super powers. Either way he loves animals and often take in or helps a lot of stray animals. 

In his spare time James still tries to figure out a way to find Jessie and Meowth, he misses them terribly because they’ve been his family for so long he doesn’t really know what to do without them, he just hopes that they remember him and would probably be heart broken if they didn’t.
