Abort! Abort! Mistakes Were Made!

Goodness, dear readers, I’m not sure if you heard all that commotion but...

We were hit with a bloody cannon! Oh goodness, it hit us right in Paige’s room. I’d just left when it happened and when I came back... Well, I’m just glad no real harm came to Paige.

A few bruises and scratches, but nothing to sniff at... Oh but the poor girl is out cold... I’m laying by her now... Did you know Paige drools sometimes? Makes an awful mess of the bed, really.

Gosh... I just hope she’s okay... The ship’s nurse said that she would be fine but... Well... I worry...

And yet again I failed to protect her... Oh Arnold would have my hide... Good thing I won’t be seeing him anytime soon!

Wait... Where did Paige’s audio diary go? Crackers and soup! I’m sorry to cut this visit short, dear readers, but I really must go find that diary! Paige would be so upset if it were to get lost... Or worse, if someone other than myself were to listen to it...

The Aquarius Ball!

Rix here again! Back from the Darling’s Annual Aquarius Ball!

And my, what an awful night! I’ve been to some gorgeous balls before, but ugh... That one was simply in poor taste. I’ve been to balls hosted by demons that were classier than that. But I guess it was to be expected. After all, the aristocrats are simply the worst!

Edgar isn’t so bad though. I can tolerate him, I suppose.

Oh, but you should have seen Paige, dear readers! She looked absolutely exquisite! Such a lovely woman, I swear I felt myself going dizzy! My heart is made of strong stuff, but even it was beating far too fast just at the very sight of her!

I guess taking Paige to her first ball was worth it... Even if the end was gruesome... I wish it hadn’t ended like that for her... She deserves so much better...

Readers, I’ve seen terrible things in my long, unnatural life... But that... That was horrific... The things humans do to each other...

I will never understand it. Oh no... What’s that sound? Readers, I will be right back! Something is going on up on deck!

A Pirate’s Life For Me!

I don’t think I would have ever expected this!

Such a turn of events! My goodness! It turns out Captain Alex is running their very own pirate crew on the Royal Grace! Gosh... Had I known we would have found ourselves in such a pickle... Well... I wouldn’t have let Paige step foot on this ship! I knew something was off about the captain as soon as I saw them... I don’t care how fantastic their fashion sense is!

But regardless, Paige seems oblivious to the danger we now find ourselves facing... I worry for that girl... If it weren’t for me, I don’t think she would have survived nearly as long.

Not that Paige isn’t a sturdy girl, mind you, but we all need a little help now and again... Besides, I’m her protector! Her guardian! And I feel as though... Well...

Now that we’re on a pirate ship with a dangerous captain... I feel as though I’ve failed the young woman I love...

Ugh, it kills me because she’s so excited! And there’s no doubt in my mind that she’s clearly fancying the captain! I... I want Paige to be happy, but I don’t want her to be in love with a dangerous pirate who’s intentions are probably not in her best interest!

Hi! I’m Rix!

Rix Hopkinson, I guess, since that’s Paige’s last name! If you’re wondering who I am, you should probably listen to this! I’m a cat... Well, sort of I guess. I’m somewhere in between... You know what? You’ll figure it out one day.

As for what I’m doing? Well, right now I’m figuring out how to get this lady to feed me. I’ve been with Paige for a long time now. People like to say that human’s pick their pets, but really? We pick you! And I was no different with Paige.

She’s always been like this... Excited, inventive and a little goofy. But that’s what I’ve always loved about her. She’s a great lady to live with! Oh, I don’t call her an owner. I call her my friend and family!

Today, she’s been working at her table, drooling over those wings. I like them; they remind me of the birds I used to catch in the jungles... Flora has some great game when you’re a hunter... Paige’s grandfather, Arnold, used to take me out hunting all the time!

I loved him. I also loved my mom... Well, she wasn’t really my mom, but she acted like it! That was enough for me. And even if now that it’s just Paige and I, well, that’s still enough!

Paige keeps talking into that silly-looking thing. She’s been really excited, but really busy. She’s has been working all the time ever since we moved to the Worker’s District in Grand Ivorglen... I worry she doesn’t eat a lot (I know I certainly don’t!) or maybe sleep enough (I know I certainly do!). Everyday I watch her engineer amazing things; things like Arnold used to make!

I think Angelix is really the idea that’s going to get her known. She might not say it, but I can tell that she worries she’s not a good engineer. I have faith in her though! She can do this!

Oops... It looks like she’s getting ready to leave! I want to go with her, but I know she can’t take a cat into that big tower... What was that company called again? Trov Towers! I think she’d look rather silly with a six-eyed cat by her side...

Oh well, I’ll still be here when she gets back right? And if she gets this job, maybe she’ll start buying me fancy fish to eat!
