It’s day two of the Eid Break. I went to the park after giving in to a two-day clinomania to break the monotony, which I’ve been doing every now and then. I realized just how much of a necessity the latter was—listening deeper into what the body begs for. Other than the greenery around—which is the default subject of my IG hashtag—I found a, I say, cuter and more interactive one. This momentary deviation gave me a different kind of happy pill and lesson. It seems that the multiverse isn’t only depicted in Marvel movies but in small worlds such as these stray cats.’ A whole new, small world (at least for me) out there that needs a little human attention or so at times. I’ve been frequenting the parks in the area since the Stephen King-like days and there’s not one that doesn’t have a space for these lost, and, probably, maltreated felines. What’s heart melting and so satisfying from this activity is seeing the inherent goodness of people. That’s when random visitors in a park share or give food to these domesticated species. Also, when, in the absence of food, these visitors give time instead by playing with them or petting them for a while… I got tempted, many many times, to capture said moments in a photo but I’ve always listened to the part of me that says not to do so. When you get to witness any of those yourself, you’ll also realize that it’s indeed better to leave the receipt right there. There’s big difference between seeing it taking place organically than forcing it to happen in a photo or for a photo. The former is rather more riveting and enlightening. After all, good deeds are meant to be taught not by a photo but by random acts of kindness.
