this had been long in the making. sagang and him had been working on this collaboration for the longest time. it was a perfect song, performed by two people, who in hwitaek’s opinion, were very good together. the kid was still young and really brought some youth to performance. he was very energetic when he was performing and hwitaek held nothing but respect for him.
after all the work they put into the performance, hwitaek really thought they would do well. they managed to work out an edit to the composition to fit the two of them better. they worked well together. hwitaek’s soft falsetto fit well with sagang’s deeper voice. the song was so delicate, but still had such a great beat. it was such a popular song, so he was more than happy to offer his best.
getting set up was easy. hwitaek got a friend to help them set up and film it for them so they could post it on their respective channels. hongdae was already starting to get busy and because of hwitaek’s getting out of work easily, he managed to snag one of the better spots that was starting to become really popular. places to busk changed constantly. the more popular a spot became, a new one had to pop up. it depended on who visited the area, of course. hwitaek wasn’t one of the ones people actively looked forward to, but he still managed to get people to stop.
when they both were ready, hwitaek got the music to start and it started softly before he started the song. they both rested on stools, deciding not to dance, but hwitaek was fine with that. he just allowed his voice carry the song.
during sagang parts, hwitaek bobbed his head and harmonized when it called for it before he was singing again. there was a soft smile on his face that appeared off and on. the song wasn’t one that really called for a smile, but as sagang performed, hwitaek felt a swell of pride. the other was definitely in his element and hwitaek was like a proud parent. he just couldn’t help being proud of others when they seemed to be doing what they loved.
as the song was nearing its end, hwitaek picked himself up from his stool and allowed his voice carry itself as he hit the higher notes, feeling a swell of pride leave his body as hit the high note. he felt proud of himself.
he grinned a bit, biting his lip as he moved his head in tune with the music and his body as well, allowing it to fill him up.
when the song came to an end, he turned to look at sagang and smile. he reached out, patting the other male’s back, a soft chuckle leaving his lips. he offered a small thumbs up.
