                she was beautiful and he was an undeserving asshole. should be end of story. it isn’t. it never is in a small world like the one seemingly captured too well in Seoul. he can’t remember the last time he constantly ran into people as often as he did here and he once lived in a small village in China. if that wasn’t irony, his English teachers must’ve taught him the wrong definition.

                 he was wrong, she’s still beautiful. if only that made a difference to him. 

                Jongin knew her reputation, heard the rumors, heeded none of it. his heart couldn’t possibly be broken by someone who apparently didn’t know of his own. if she was a quote unquote “heartbreaker,” he wondered what he was himself. 

                “long time no see,” he murmured softly, fingers carelessly curling in the end of her hair. it was different, he liked it even if he no longer liked her. “You should show me around,” another careless gesture when he grins, holds out a hand to her. by now, he had forgotten she started university, forgot she attended K-ARTs but now that he found her, who better to show him around. lord only knows how boring his current tour guide was. abandoning him had paid off for this moment.

red hair swaying as she walked down the street. she eyed her phone again. reading the directions of the house she was headed to. as she checked the clock. she was late as usual. it was honestly unintentional. she had been at dance practice after school. ariel sighed as she dawned near her destination. ariel didn't see the point of having a tutor, her grades weren't that bad. but her mother, and one of her teachers, had suggested it. as when you do move schools your grades could being to dwindle.

she was honestly thankful of who she had gotten to be her tutor. she didn't think nani would make her try and focus too hard on her homework. and if she did, she felt as though she could sway her to doing something else. she was a pretty persuasive person.

finally made her way to the building she opened the door. a gush of cool air hitting her. she shivered as it hit her, her hair had still been a little wet- from a shower she had taken after dance. probably the reason she was even more late. but she didn't want to be all sweaty and smelling bad. she wasn't about to show up in public like that. in front of people she didn't even really know.

the room was completely silent as she walked in. a common thing of libraries. it was almost eerie ariel thought to herself. this is why she hated libraries. they were always silent making her yawn just thinking about the lectures she was about to endure. ariel walked past the tower of bookshelves and to a separate area of tables. amongst the people noses deep in books she saw her 'teacher.'

long legs charged their way through the crowds of tables. head held high showing her confidence. feeling already that she knew she was the 'cutest' person here. these little things gave her confidence. call her superficial but, everyone was in their own well. it also made her feel better to think these things. it wasn't like she said it allowed. her eyes laid sight on nani and she smiled. she was very pretty. 'wow we're both the best looking people here.' she thought to herself. knowing ariel this meant that nani was someone ariel saw herself hanging around. she was egotistical like that. stepping up to her "nani?" she smiled saying her name in a high pitched manner, getting the others attention. "hey," she spoke in english as she sat down at the table. "so what do you have planned for me today?" her accent laying on a little thick as she spoke.

on the rise

the call time of five o’clock in the morning was a little too harsh for joy to take in. the location of the trc building would take an hour by bus from her living arrangements in gangnam and a little less with the subway. that was her cue to wake up an hour before training starts to arrive on time. unfortunately for her, her mind and body was still on the process of getting used to it.

with a look on her wrist watch, she suppressed a sigh as she stepped down from the subway in yongsan station. fifteen minutes before the clock strikes five in the morning and the building was still a few walks away. afraid to run and bump into people at an early hour, she was fast walking to reach her destination. with a flushed breath, she stepped foot on the company building five minutes before the time. a triumphant smile graced her features and a glance was directed towards the entrance as a female figure came in. her smile grew broader at the recognition. “hello!” she bowed towards her. “we met again! and we’re both almost late.” she chuckled at the now amusing thought when it was her sole worry not long minutes ago.

Sojin walked down the sidewalk, looking for places with large crowds so that she would be able to find the most people to hand flyers to. A shock of strawberry blonde hair caught her eye - quite a pretty color. She quickly walked over, handing a flyer out in front of her. “Hello! Here’s a flyer with some information about TRC Entertainment, please check it out!” Her eyes widened as the girl turned and she realized that it was the same person that had handed her the same sheet of paper before. “Oh! It’s you again!”

“hi!” she greeted enthusiastically as the familiar face of the lady whom she gave her own flyer hours ago came into her viewpoint. “we’ll be seeing each other a lot! let’s practice together soon, okay?” she grabbed the other’s outstretched flyer that was similar in every way to the ones she held on her arm. even though she wasn’t aware of her name just yet, she was excited to have met someone who belongs in the same company as hers. it gave her the ulterior reason to be more cheerful. “i’ll go finish my job too.” she spoke gesturing towards her own stack. “i’ll see you back in the company!”

The stack of papers that had seemed so incredibly thick had dwindled down throughout the course of the day until it was just a few sheets, which made Sojin sigh in relief. A girl caught her eye, so gorgeous that Sojin caught herself marveling at how pretty she was. Walking up to her with a bright smile, she handed a flyer to her. “Excuse me! This is a flyer for TRC with dates and events if you ever wanted to be an idol. You’re beautiful and you would definitely fit the part, so you should check it out!”

although there is no type of shock that passes through the girl when she is stopped again, mahogany hues flicker towards the sky briefly in question; was she the chosen one for all flyer trainees today? was this her calling, to help out poor, defenseless souls who probably had no idea what they just signed their freedom, creativity, and time away to? sunyoung ponders over the thought as she collects another flyer through nimble fingers, and the question, “how many of y’all are out today, holy shit--” spills from plush tiers, the only emotion found within her words are amusement. shock does appear in the form of a raised eyebrows and soft nervous laughter at the woman’s words, because beautiful isn’t something that sunyoung would exactly describe herself as. “damn, this coming from someone who looks like aphrodite herself? flattery will get you everywhere ~” a free hand forms a finger gun to which she shoots at the other, laughter bouncing off of the sides of buildings as she sways from one side to the other. “but nah, i’m already signed with kt. congrats and good luck at trc through!” sunyoung tells the girl with an eager wave as she continues her walk,”let’s meet onstage one day, yeah?”
