TRAINEES! WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Along with the Speak Up! project event, some of the classes and workshops will require an extra pair of hands or two to work just right. To help our fellow idols, some of our trainees were invited to serve as assistants in their classes!

The trainees listed below were told privately by one of their coaches about the opportunity and encouraged them to take it.

MAY 29TH

All chosen assistants will have a meeting with the class teacher a week before to get a run-down of how the class or workshop will be like.

All of those who accept this opportunity will be awarded an extra +3 POINTS ON THE CLASS’S SKILL, +3 DEBUT POINTS, and +1WK RELEVANT ACHIEVEMENT. To collect these rewards, you must write one 300+ words solo or one four-post thread with someone taking the workshop.  Please tag all related posts as #rkspeakup and #rkspeakupassistant and have them up before midnight EST at the end of June 10th.

Forms can only be submitted after the activity check on June 17th.

he mustered the tall instructor assistant from afar, while he waited for his turn to be given a few tips. gray was aware, that he wasn't the best singer, although he had the chance to earn some experience on that expertise before. but who would let the opportunity slip to see wendy, his favorite female singer in the world, when she was so busy these days? it made him happy to see his friend being so passionate about teaching others about what she was definitely top at. and it was always great to meet up with her, even if it was just for a short workshop and even if he had to share her with others.

but for now, while wendy was away and distracted by questions of workshop participants, he looked at the assistants, wondering if the male one remembered him. gray, for his part, still remembered jongsuk who had left quite the impression on him, years ago. and it still bugged him how the other had basically disappeared from the surface, just like him. when the other approached him in order to give out tips, he shot the other a smile and offered his hand. "hello, jongsuk. i don't know if you remember me, but we've participated at the third season of the mgas back then... it's great to see you again. i hope to learn a lot from you today!"

Why he was here Eric honestly wasn’t sure about. When he had heard about the speak up project he was more than honoured to be pulled aside for an offer to help out with one of the classes, and in a sense he still was, that wasn’t the problem. Just... Why hapkido? He hadn’t the faintest clue on where to even begin with martial arts although his sunbae had been kind enough to introduce him well to the plan and the schedule leaving him with a feeling that maybe he might be able to do this after all. No, there was never any doubt about that. He was Eric Sohn and he could do anything his mind was set to.

There was just one little thing. When he had bragged about being picked as assistant, his brother had insisted that he’d go to that particular class. And he had definitely kept his word. All throughout the introductions and demonstrations Eric could feel Dowoon’s amused glance on him. He’d definitely get him back for this somehow.

As it was time for the students to form pairs, Eric saw his cue as Dowoon was messing up the pose he had just been instructed in. “Yah, Yoon Dowoon ssi!” he called out to the other, trying to keep his face strict but unable to hide the amusement completely. “Your posture is all wrong. Like this you might fall when your partner attacks.” Clearing his throat, he took up the mentioned pose that he had been carefully instructed in and repeated until perfection so that he may show it without issues should it be necessary. “You have to be more like this. Get it?”

Jeongguk was excited. This wasn’t what he expected when a coach pulled him aside but with his hopes already down in the dumpsters to get anywhere in this business it was a pleasant surprise. At least his skill as a photographer was something no one put into question. 

Furthermore he was quite honestly very excited to work with Doyeon. Of course he had seen his fair share of MV’s and even if he’s no fashion photographer, he couldn’t deny that Doyeon was a very fine model with a lot of Charisma under her belt. 

Hearing the door open he got up, smile widening across his lips as he bowed towards her politely once she came into view. “Good Day. Pleasure to meet you, m’lady,” he greets her with a slight jest to his tone, wondering in the back of his mind how those two would get along working together.

it came as a little surprise to him to be asked to assist an idol during a song writing workshop for the speak up event, as he had expected to return to the dungeons now that he had rejected his company's generous offer. if he was honest it had made him happy to be chosen for something he felt so passionate about, and he was grateful to be chosen to help out. april hadn't been nice to him, but may seemed to bear better experiences for him. gray felt much better than before, he felt happier as if a big boulder has been lifted from his shoulders.

so when the workshop started, the rapper was full of energy and motivation. kt wouldn't regret having putting him up there, he represent the company well. the workshop was well visited, most obviously because of jinwook who was the idol instructor. there was a lot to do, gray jumped from one group to another, telling them about his own experiences and trying to help out as much as he could.

having taught others about songwriting, composing and producing during his underground time before was definitely helping, though he wasn't too sure if his tips were helping in the end, when he couldn't release a song himself yet. he supposed he wasn't the best example, but then again he thought it was just alright, since he was just an assistant, so he had not to sweat over things. as he was about to overthink again, he made out one of his bros, jeongguk in a midst of a group and with a big smile, he approached the other. "hey bro! are you done with taking all photos? needy to write down some emotional lines now?"

he still isn’t quite sure how or why he was chosen as an assistant for the hosting workshop when he’s only been an mc for the spop channel for a couple of months, but he’s not going to turn down an opportunity like this, and he’s excited to get to talk to other people about something he’s only taken a keener interest in after getting chosen for the part. besides, if he wasn’t chosen, he would still have ended up taking the workshop anyway, so it’s kind of a win-win.

but for all of the excitement he has, he still lacks the confidence to feel like he can truly teach anyone else about the subject, as he’s still learning himself. of course, a lack of self-confidence has never stopped him, not considering himself a professional at hosting by any means, but one at faking it til he makes it. and so it’s with great gusto and a giant grin on his face that he steps into one of the paired off people to lend some advice if he could, and throw a wrench in the routine because, as he’s learned from recording, unforeseen circumstances can happen at any time.

“oh no!” he exclaims with a dramatic tone. he points at one of the pair, free hand over his open mouth as he gasps. “your mic has suddenly shut off mid-speech, and you’re live! what will you do?”
