˟ ▀   dance of horrors .

the choreography that she’s coming up with hardly screams pure, but sua doesn’t care.  the coaches at sphere by now should know well that she’s going to be herself without apology.

at first though, she herself hadn’t thought of a horror concept  -  originally, she was just thinking of doing a choreography cover for a popular song.  but she hasn’t had the chance to dance something that she’s created in forever; if the heartz girls aren’t all going to be pure all the time, there’s still bound to be a place for someone who has a preference for darker, sexy, girl crush, sultry concepts.  this may be the first month that she’s ever thought of maybe, perhaps, eventually making it into the group after all.

it’s not something that she wants, but if it’s going to happen, it’ll be on her own terms  -  with sua showing the skills she wants to present and being herself at every step of the way.

cue the horror.  the beat of bury a friend plays its haunting tune in the background as she slowly works on choreography  -  a move, a twist, a turn.  her body convulses with the beat and that’s when sua hears the shriek that is clearly not from the music.  immediately, she stops  -  not showing the alarm on her face, but her body tense with narrowed eyes.  at the door, she sees chaeyeon looking horrified.

“ what? what’s wrong?”  she asks quickly, scanning the room.  “ why did you scream?”

for the most part, shiah didn’t even really have control over her schedule. between her mother manager coming at her and the tendrils of esteem applying their pressure over these workshops, she just kind of ended up floating throughout the day not really knowing where she was about to head off to. skincare and makeup... this was crucial for models and while she did heavily rely on a dermatologist, even she could bring herself to see the benefit in educating herself on how to better care for her skin.

she pulled up her chair and rested her balenciagas against the footrest, her elbows curling upon the table as she took her phone from her bag and began to text boredly. this felt like it was going to be a long class and she knew others back at the agency for sure were going to be able to save her from this. plus on top of that she was hungry.

she heard the faint rustling of crinkling plastic and her head began to swivel, following her nose to the scent to see the girl just two seats down from her apparently removing what seemed like a snack. she swallowed lightly as she stared it down and chewed her lower lip. she had way too much pride to ask but damn did it look good....

It’s already nearing midnight when Yoohyeon finally arrives back home from work and she can hardly wait to tackle her house mate with great news, exciting news that she has held inside a total of twelve hours-- if she has to guess, she can’t be a hundred percent sure. Regardless, it doesn’t really matter, what matter is what actually happened earlier this day. 

     “Chaeyeon-ah! Where are you?”      “Chaeyeon-ah! Jung Chaeyeon!”

Yoohyeon calls for the other from the entrance, both hurrying and struggling to remove all her outerwear, completely disregarding the fact that her friend might be sleeping already. Bringing inside a bag stacked with evening snacks and soft drinks to share, Yoohyeon is ready to burst with excitement as she prepares their coffee table with some delicious food.

It’s a gesture from one of her coworkers, who felt the urge to congratulate her with the results from the shooting, which ultimately is the reason why Yoohyeon is home so late. On a typical Thursday she would have been home before 5PM and then have stayed home for the rest of the day, possibly be sound asleep by the time Chaeyeon arrives from practice.

     Not today though, not today.

˟ ▀   guardian .

there isn’t often a moment that she gets to have to herself now that she’s been shoved into the debut project without her consent.  independent study hours have been shortened for her; she’s been practically whisked away into a hole of wartime active duty.  perhaps no one else sees the bloodshed, but she does.  even if she pays on heed to it, it’s hard not to see the anger and annoyance in some of the girls eyes whenever they’re not announced for girl of the month.

thankfully, there are a few who are always supportive of whoever makes it, and those are the girls sua has a tendency to gravitate towards.  but for now, she still wants some time alone.

she spends this moment in reflection, spinning the ring on her right index finger and wondering if she should give hyun the bill for having it cleaned.  (  she wouldn’t really make him pay for it, but perhaps it would be something of a joke.  then again, she never really had a sense of humour.  )  but she’s distracted from her thoughts at the sound of footsteps approaching, and sees chaeyeon with her glum expression on.

she sighs and beckons the younger trainee over, making room beside her.  “ who do i have to tell off this time?” sua says flatly, tilting her head.  “ is it one of the girls or someone else?”

˟ ▀   new girl syndrome .

slowly they trickle in, one by one: the new girls with hopeful eyes and desperate faces, peppered in amongst the crowd of sphere’s trainees.  it’s not hard to pick them out because they don’t quite look like they know where to stand, where to go or where to belong yet  -  especially given by the fact that some of the faces even she can’t remember seem to be icing them out.  sua sighs  -  start a war, you get a massacre.  sphere doesn’t seem to understand that given that they expect the girls to be peaceful in a warzone, and that’s another thing sua just can’t bring herself to agree with.

it grates on her nerves, but sua lets it be for a time.  at least, until she spots one of the new girls from one of the other companies being ignored when she’s just asking for help getting to their next class.  her eyes narrow slightly at the trainee who walks by her, not only who walks by her but bumps her shoulder on the way -  what a catty piece of shit.  “ come over here.” she finally calls out to .. chaeyeon? was that her name?  “ i’ll show you how to get to where you need to go.”

after talking to minhee for a bit, eunji finally had a sort of idea about what she wanted to for this month's evaluation. she'd show off a few different dance styles, a quick minute for each. then it had been the painful process of putting it all together. bit by bit and right now she finally had something she wanted to show off. which was she was thankful that chaeyeon didn't mind watching her practice.

"so what did you think?" eunji said as she finally sat down on the floor, breathing a little heavily. the mix had been a minute of three different songs, a scratch separating them. it showed of a variety of dance skills. "and if you want! i can watch you to, if you have anything you want to work on?" eunji didn't mind lending a helping hand seeing as chaeyeon was willing to help her out.

he was completely floored by this yoga situation. and not necessarily floored in the good way but just laid out. entirely. on the floor. his long limbs were sprawled out over his yoga mat as he lay there catching his breath. first off.. who made yoga this difficult? why was it this hard? he didn’t even know he had half of these muscles! he knew for sure that he was going to feel this the next day but for now, he welcomed the break and sighed before gathering the will to move again.

he brought his legs forward to sit himself back upright and drew his arms in, trying to remain careful of the people around him but he was a tall guy. all it took was a bump of his elbow against a girl who had been practicing for him to hear the thud of her body hitting her mat. panic went through him immediately and he shot upright to head to her side.

“oh my god! did i trip you? are you okay? i didn’t see you i swear!”

Round Two

As much as Luda enjoyed making new friends and acquaintances, it was nice to chat with someone she already knew. They may not have been the best of friends or known each other too well, but having been in the same company for a while, they were bound to at least know each other a little and t have chatted here or there before.

“How are you settling in?” Luda asked Chaeyeon as they were spending some break time together. The first month had passed by so quickly, yet it had felt endlessly long to prepare and train and perfect both performances over the few weeks. She was also in no way surprised that Taeyeon had been chosen first and was endlessly happy for her. It didn't help to calm the worries for her own future, but those were buried as far back in her mind as possible.

It was also immensely calming to Luda that she wasn't the only one from KT to have auditioned and made it into this group. Of course their futures could still follow completely different directions, but the thought of someone in the same boat as her was nice. Sure, they all were to some extent, but still, it felt different to the girl.

“Are you happy with your results of the first month?” her question wasn't quite as light as she wanted to keep the conversation (after all springing her deepest worries on someone when the person didn't ask for that was a bit weirs), but that thought hit her too late. Still, they continued on into the next round, so they must've done something right.
