i know that sounded very dramatic, but i think itâs time that i finally let go of yoohyeon and truthfully, this really doesnât feel good. she is undoubtedly my favourite muse and iâve put a lot of work into her, but things hasnât gone the way i intended for her-- story wise, yes, but that is about it. despite having had her for 10 months, it feels like i have only written with the same three people. iâm not blaming anyone here, iâm not. iâm just very upset that she didnât work out. so itâs with a heavy heart that iâm dropping her, to focus on my other muses instead. to those who wrote with her, thank you. âĄ

reaching up to the training building in seocho with hyejoo today feels much the same as it has throughout this entire month, only a whole lot more nerve-wracking. yoohyeon has been of the new kt trainees for just over a month by now and although itâs easier to handle the schedule, it has dawned upon her that she is definitely lacking, in more than one area. she decided to play it simple by choosing an easy song for the evaluation since, well, itâs her very first one-- but, in all reality, was that a good idea? perhaps it was, perhaps it wasnât.Â
perhaps she should have challenged herself more. would they notice that she is playing it safe and more importantly, will they be disappointed? itâs something yoohyeon has thought about a whole lot during the many practices that she has had with @rkxsnh this past month, insecurity blossoming within. all she want is to prove herself worthy, that they didnât make a mistake, she want to show that she absolutely has what it takes. although yoohyeon might not be anywhere near ready to debut, there is definitely passion resting inside her.
devotement combined with her history of hard work, itâs the recipe for success-- well, unless it breaks her first. she can already feel the fatigue creeping up on her from the brave attempt to juggle trainee schedules with a part-time job, and two youtube channels. if she had only been somewhat into dancing and working out from before, it might not have been so draining to her body, but it certainly is. at this point, the only thing that keeps her going is the sincere wish to prove herself, not only for lee hyori, all the coaches and the staff.
  for herself, for her family.Â
her heart is racing when she enter the center of the small stage with hyejoo, even as she has faith that they are going to kill the performance, together. winter flower is a song that fits them both so perfectly, in her eyes, anyway. younhaâs soft yet powerful tone is one that yoohyeon is easily able to mimic and even, add her own flavour to-- at least, she believe that she can sing this song quite well, that she compliment the instrumental quite alright. of course, she need a litlte more practice to actually nail the ending high notes, just a little.
as for hyejoo, her skills as a rapper makes the verses sound easy. perhaps yoohyeon is a little biased towards the younger female, although, she would argue against it-- (girl)friend or not, it doesnât matter. she has always admired the otherâs capability to deliver lyrics, as much as she can deliver herself in the way that she want to. while yoohyeon has always been confident, itâs something else when hyejoo stand on stage, when she is in her element and is performing. an ever so small smile is offered in the direction of her collaboration partner.
  then, the instrumental begin.
hyejoo open the song over the sound of piano, leading the way for yoohyeonâs vocal entrance. when itâs due time to show off, she begin softly, perfectly mimicing the original song. she is not comfortable experimenting with different vocal techniques yet, as she doesnât know very many as prior to becoming a trainee, her only coach was through youtube. what she does know, she does use, though. seems like all of the vocal covers that she has previously posted has finally purpose, other than to simply showing off to internet viewers for fun.
their interaction during the stage is phenomenal, almost suspiciously good, in fact-- of course, being close as they are, itâs only natural that they work well together. part of her worry that the next month will be difficult, if she canât pair up with hyejoo again. normally speaking, yoohyeon wouldnât be so insecure, but normalcy has yet to make a presence again. as the ending come, she prepares herself for the high notes and the belting that she previously felt good about. itâs nerve-wracking to say the least, to perform in front of the ceoâs like this.
i will be by your side~
it sounds a little strained as yoohyeon didnât properly activate her core, despite knowing what great importance that has. she might be able to fool some of the other trainees to think that it sounds amazing-- the coaches, on the other hand? the ceoâs? they instantly know that she is definitely going to need more practice on her technique. not that itâs bad, but it can absolutely improve. all in all, yoohyeon is happy with her effort so far. part of the insecurity that followed her into the auditorium earlier has vanished, has made room for courage.
Pulling away from the older girl, she leans over to place a chaste kiss on the corner of Yoohyeonâs lips. For all the amazing things that have happened the last few months, finally taking that step from friends to lovers is the cherry on top of the cake to her happiness. Although Olivia has always been comfortable in her own skin, itâs nice to act freely around Yoohyeon now especially after harbouring such a huge infatuation on the older girl for as long as she could remember.Â
Olivia places her music sheet haphazardly across her girlfriendâs lap before leaning in for another kiss then finally tearing herself away from Yoohyeon. Stretching tall as she tries to work out the kinks that settled on her back while she walks towards the kitchen. âIâm not sure what we have but we could always order something if you want?â Calling out to Yoohyeon, wondering if they could get chicken or some jajamyeon, maybe even both.
Reaching out with a hand, Yoohyeon doesnât allow Hyejoo to get away that easily. Greedy to a fault, she gingerly pull the other in for another kiss by the help of a gentle grip across the nape of her neck, her lips then curling into a grin before letting go. It feels forbidden but still, so very right at the same time. As the couch empties, she is quick to lie down in a comfortable manner whilst the younger search the kitchen for something worth munching on-- music sheets in one hand, lyrics in the other, Yoohyeon calls back into the kitchen whilst reading.
âIâm thinking something light~ Iâm not super hungry, only a little.â She say, then breaking into a big yawn. Their new schedule, similar, but not a copy of one another, is taking a toll on her. Itâs already been weeks and she supposes that most people would have adjusted, which makes it even worse as she struggle to manage the new activities. Long days she can handle, it simply comes down to all of the dancing and all of the working out-- itâs difficult, itâs tiresome, and she has yet to face the benefits of continous activity. âAnything you crave, honey?â
This is her first evaluation as a trainee in TRC. With her first and current girlfriend, Yoohyeon. Who, coincidently, will be part-taking in her first evaluations as a trainee signed in KT. Not at all surprising considering, they both got signed through similar circumstances, but that doesnât make any of this less amazing.Â
Drumming her fingers on her thighs, Olivia rests her heads on Yoohyeonâs shoulder as they listened to their chosen song for the nth time. She mumbles a few rap verses that she had down on the music notes rested on her lap, âYoo-chan, wanna snack?â Olivia raps out instead of the lines written on her paper before her feeling a bit peckish with all the preparations theyâve done so far.Â
Yoohyeon might think that she has done herself a favour this month by playing it safe, but she will surely notice that is not the case-- after all, the longer she postpones dancing, the longer it takes for her to succeed. Obviously, that is a problem for another day, though, because now is not the time to worry about what she does not intend to showcase by the end of June. Not that the chosen song requires a lot of work really, but thatâs simply a win in her book.Â
Instead, she enjoy the company of Olivia, the tip of her fingers gently and absentmindedly run across the youngerâs nearest thigh, all the while reading through the lyrics, over and over. She glances over when called for, or rather, glances down, only noticing because she read what is supposed to be the lyrics as her girlfriend changed the words. Yoohyeon canât help but snicker in response, only to lean her head to rest atop ther otherâs. âSnacks sounds great.â
yoohyeon finds herself alone after the opening ceremony, only then realising that thereâs near two hous until her first workshop begins. excited as she is, though, she canât help but roam as luckily, there are quite a lot prepared for those who arenât in class also. phone resting in petite hands, screen beaming brightly with kakaotalk up and running for some quick messages, she almost doesnât notice the crowd that has come together for a surprise appearance.
and boy, is she surprised when luxe steps onto the small stage.
it takes all of her to not squeal like a fangirl, although, luxe is probably the only girl group that she actually listens to regularly. not to mention, yoohyeon cannot wait to meet up with cheri in an upcoming workshop-- well, she wonât necessarily meet the leader of luxe, but she will sure be able to see her from afar. it wonât be until the next day, however, but so long as she will be in the presence of her ultimate bias, yoohyeon will be content and more than happy.
she isnât all too surprised when she absolutely loves the stage, as well as the song. luxe really never disappoints her and at this point, yoohyeon wonders if they are even capable of making a bad song. in her opinion, thus far, no. with her phone still in hand, she decides to snap a few pictures for keepsake, also sending one of them to the fbg group chat with a caption that they are teaching key movements. if only yoohyeon could dance, then it would be good.
however, she canât, but she does her very best to keep up with the instructions and if this isnât motivation to improve on her dancing, then yoohyeon doesnât know what is.Â
if one thing is for certain, itâs that yoohyeon undoubtedly learnt a whole lot during yoga today. perhaps she didnât succeed in the practice itself, despite jennie providing them for an hour of beginner friendly exercise, but it was certainly an eye opener. it has been a mere week since yoohyeon became the newest addition to the group of trainees under kt entertainment, and it sure has been a hard week for her. she might be used to long days and working non stop, but what she isnât used to, however, is to use her body. in fact, yoohyeon canât remember the last time that she properly worked out, aside attempting to dance in the comfort of her home.
it hits her hard as she lies there on the yoga mat in a pose called âcorpse poseâ, almost to the point of tears building up. in that very moment, as the class finally come to an end, yoohyeon wonders whether she deserves to be a trainee. sure, she has good vocals, if she may say so herself, but that is practically all there is to her-- a pretty face, and a pretty voice. she doesnât know how to dance, which she painfully were reminded of during freestyle hip hop, a class in which she only attended for the sake of keeping yuzu in check. yoohyeon is exhausted and it surely will not get better, not until it gets worse, she supposes. at least, thatâs what they say.
or, something like that. she struggles to remain awake in this pose, despite jennieâs speaking. itâs during this state that yoohyeon decides that this isnât good enough, that she is going to be working hard to prove herself worthy of her current status, a trainee under kt entertainment-- because she knows, she knows very well, that this is her only chance. she has to make it.
Over the years GRAY had seen people coming and going, it was something that was quite common in this kind of industry. Sometimes trainees would change companies and debut under new labels, sometimes people decided against a life as idol and several times new trainees arrived. GRAY was sad to see colleagues and friends leaving, but was happy, whenever there were new friends to meet and make. everyone of them was different, had a different skill set, a different background and past, but one thing connected them all: And that was the dream of music.
He blinks at her wide open eyes as she looks up to him and freezes for a hot second. it makes him chuckle lightly. It was a kind of reaction he had received a few times before, as he was mistaken for a coach quite often. Who would expect someone like him, someone as old as him in a company like KT? Their entertainment was known as the company with the greatest ressources. And yet, GRAY, the type of guy that wasnât to be expected among all those beauties and handsomes, was under that label, trapped for 3 and half a year already. âAh, did you think a coach approached you to scold you?â The older man snorts lightly. He still remembered his own first days at KT and the nervousness that had come with it.
With a smile on his lips, he takes the seat next to her, watching her tugging her phone away. âIâm happy to see you here as well! Youâre making a great addition to the trainee line up!â Having heard from his cousin how his friends were interested in music as well, had given GRAY pretty much of a picture how Yoohyeon was. âAh, Iâm fine with whatever you call me. Donât feel obligated to call me sunbae, if you prefer oppa.â
Yoohyeon honestly feels a little embarrased being caught with her nose so deep down at her phone that she completely forgot about her surroundings, although, she really is not one who buries herself in awkwardness. Instead, all the while her cheeks are burning, she continues a conversation as though nothing really happened-- because ultimately, nothing really did. With the company of a familiar face itâs safe that she allows for mistakes to slide easier than with a stranger, but in the end, everyone who knows Yoohyeon, knows that she doesnât care.
A chuckle escapes her, then she shakes her head dismissively. âNo... I mean-- I donât know if anyone would scold me for playing games during my lunch, but... I suppose that I didnât really expect someone to come over.â She admits, although, happy that someone did, someone she already knows. Now, Yoohyeon is a social butterfly who thrives off of social interactions, but it has been a little overwhelming to her the past few days while trying to adjust, trying to accept the undenying fact that she is one step closer to her gloal. Really, she canât believe it still.
âIâll continue to call you oppa, then.â She says in a whisper, after having leant in a little, a grin showing immediately as restult of the murmur. âDo you really think I fit in, though?â It isnât that Yoohyeon is insecure, but she has a hard time grasping the fact that she is actually a trainee, under KT Entertainment, out of all companies out there. Truth be told, it tears on her a bit, an undenying fact that is... she canât dance, she really canât. Yoohyeon wonder how much of a hinder that will be, how difficult it will be to reach the level of the other trainees-- so far, sheâs certain that she iwll have a hard time. However, if this is what she wants, she will succeed.
now he was actually sitting down he just felt even more awkward. he didnât know what he was supposed to say now, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck as he squirmed in his seat. just saying hello and welcoming the new trainee had been the plan, but now he had done that and they had exchanged names he was a little unsure as to what was supposed to come next. was he supposed to offer to help her with something? give her a tour of the building? tell her he was open if she had any questions?Â
but it seemed she was going to ask him questions anyway and haruto was just a little off gaurd, blinking for a moment as it took his brain some time to actually process the question. âum, i was signed in⊠the middle of november,â he seemed to recall it was november, anyway. he couldnât remember the exact date anymore. that whole time was more or less a blur and he had gone and forgotten it all thanks to the nerves. âso me and another trainee, jeongguk, were the most recent signed trainees before you. we joined at the same time.âÂ
yoohyeon canât help but notice that the male across her seems a bit delicate, perhaps a little uncertain about how to proceed with the situation-- so long as he doesnât sit there feeling as though he has to, she supposes that itâs fine. smiling still, however, yoohyeon mouths âohâ in response. âso, about half a year then? a little over that,â she says as a matter of factly. as the newest addition to kt entertainment, yoohyeon is obviously quite curious about everyone who are now her brand new coworkers and admittedly, her mission is to befriend them all.
well, as far as possible, anyway-- she is well aware that there may, or may not, be people that she wonât get along with. so far, itâs going quite well, though, if she can say so herself. âdo you like it here? ah~ since i have taken your title as being the new kid, do you have any advice for me?â her tone has a hint of playfulness, her extroverted side showing clear as crystal-- boy, is she glad to be back in business, finally done and over with februaryâs many troubles.
while he knew that it wasnât a bad idea to introduce himself to a new trainee and would have to do it eventually, he did sort of feel as though his current method was not the best one. maybe it would have just been better to wait until they were in a class together and casually done it then. but no, apparently he had decided that openly approaching her in the middle of lunch was a good idea. and now he couldnât help but feel a little awkward at the situation was sure all the colour was draining right from his face this very second.Â
when she called him sunbae, haruto did let out a small squeak of surprise. âah, no no, just haruto is fine,â it was incredibly awkward to think that anyone would call him sunbae and it was incredibly awkward for him to hear as well. and he did feel a little strange just standing there, so he awkwardly bowed shortly before silently slipping into the chair she was offering him. âyoohyeon, yes,â he repeated to himself, nodding his head to try and commit the name to memory, âwell, welcome. i suppose.âÂ
yoohyeon expresses quietly that his request has been acknowledged with some nods, a smile growing wider upon finding him rather adorable. from the looks of it, he seems to be a little bit younger than herself, but perhaps itâs merely result of his awkwardness. cute, absolutely cute. happy to see him slip down to accompany her, yoohyeon canât wait to make some friends-- at least, that is the wishful oufcome. âalright, haruto it is, then!â without any arguement, she does decide to drop the honorifics. it seems more friendly like that, she supposes.
âthank you,â she repeats once again through the same smile as previously. arms rests on top of the cool surface of the cafeteria table, comfortably crossed. âso... how long have you been with kt, then?â as far as yoohyeon knows, although, she canât be sure, she is the one and only new addition to the company-- then again, from the looks of it, there are a bunch of trainees in the cafeteria and she admittedly knows no one, save for gray and chaeyeon, who she already knows from before, the latter being her very house mate, who hardly is here anymore.
Adjusting to a household without sign has been difficult for Hyunjin. Over the years heâs learned to adjust when heâs out and about, but returning home at the end of the day has always been a welcome reprieve; allowing him to express himself freely in a way that Hyunjin still feels is locked away when he communicates verbally. The dorm, his new home, doesnât have that same solace and even though his teammates have picked up sign here and there, he still selfishly misses conversing with true ease.
Itâs this longing for sign that prompts Hyunjin to approach the girl in the cafeteria, tapping her shoulder to garner her attention. Her movements caught his eyes minutes ago and he must seem suspicious to any outsider since all Hyunjinâs been doing since is staring at her. She signs. The signs donât come out in the same way one might expect from a native, thereâs subtle almost invisible quirks to the hand movements that speak of well-rehearsed practice, but not quite fluency. (Theyâre little things really, but for someone raised in the Deaf world, theyâre noticeable; an accent if you will).
Nevertheless, she signs â and Hyunjin misses communicating in his first language perhaps even more than he realises. âYou understand Korean sign language?â Hyunjin already knows the answer to this but he wants her to confirm it for him, needs her to make it real.
Following the end of her face time with Yoorim, mere moments pass before Yoohyeon feels a small tap of her shoulder, which instantly has her turn to the touch. Smiling at the male, she is obviously curious, as shown by big and round eyes and a questioning gaze-- although, before she is able to actually greet him, save for a small bow, he surprises her greatly. âOh,â she has never been approached with sign before, result of only using it herself in the presence of her baby sister, so immediatedly she expresses her astonishment with her voice.
After all, spoken Korean is her mother tongue.
âYes, I understand some.â Clearly she understands a little more than âsomeâ, but Yoohyeon is humble enough to know that she isnât fluent, occasional mistakes and stumbles evident here and there easily exposes her freshness. Three years of practice sounds like a lot, however, it certainly cannot compete with those who has grow up with the language. Despite spending a great amount of time perfecting it, she is very much aware that to fluent speakers, she surely has some sort of accent, without even having the slightest clue what that looks like.
âIâm Kim Yoohyeon,â she then takes the opportunity to introduce herself and hopefully, she can make aqcuaintances with him. âWould you like to sit with me?â Perhaps she could have asked normally, with her voice, but every chance she gets to practice, Yoohyeon will take.
ïčĄ Â Â ââ   itâs closer to the end of the class when naeun had found time in her class to hand-out the freebies she had prepared for her segment. while there were many, she had organized them well into little trays. a miniature self-care kit filled with her mamonde samples and other freebies she had found at her favorite beauty shop in myeongdong. she hoped they liked it â it had been hard to come by, especially with her current schedule. ( and she was sure manager kyu had been stressed trying to pry her from the shops when she had tried to stay a tad bit longer while shopping )
when she had passed out the freebies, she let the rest of the class have time to go through them ; sampling the items as they did. walking about, exchanging small talk and smiles before lingering at the front as she waited for everyone to calm down. she hadnât thought anyone would come approach her but the surprise is pleasant.
her smile comes easy, the voice has her heart warm and her eyes gently softening at the sight of the other coming to. it reminded her of the fansign they had just a few days before, of the fans who were lucky enough to approach her and the rest of the luxe girls â naeun could only imagine how she was feeling.Â
âof course,â she nods, happily ; âask away. iâll try my best to answer them. though, if itâs anything more about skin care iâm afraid iâm all out of advice.â she sighs, head shaking as she jokes, lightly.Â
any trace of nervousness seems to vanish once the ice has been broken, and yoohyeon canât help but chuckle in response to what she assumes to be mild tease. regardless, she still finds herself a little shy about approaching someone like cheri, even in spite of normally being very much comfortable when it comes to making acquaintances. itâs different, however, being in the presence of a celebrity, who also is very much a mere human being-- itâs difficult to remember such things, though, when they appear like goddesses who seem to be perfect.
they too have their own flaws, yoohyeon is aware of that, but they are certainly good at hiding that to the world. she can feel her heart pumping hard against her chest, cheeks flushed into a mild hue of pink. making eye contact isnât easy right now, but she tries, without staring all too much at the same time. âhmm, perhaps you went over this so i apologise if i migth have zoned out, but i was wondering if itâs actually necessary to have a skin care routine, even when one doesnât really use makeup and such?â if she could skip out on it, then she would.
not because she doesnât enjoy pampering herself and taking care of her skin, but skin care is expensive and yoohyeon would much rather spend her money elsewhere. like, for instance, it would benefit her family much more in difficult times, such as back in february. her gaze is as hopeful as can be, although, she didnât really disclose which answer she hopes for.
haruto had been intrigued to learn that there was a new kt trainee who had just been signed. it would be the first new face in the building since he and jeongguk had joined in november last year. and it was somewhat exciting to think he was no longer going to be the newbie. not that he really considered himself that new from being a trainee for seven months now. but he still felt as though he could help this new face out.Â
it only took him a quick scan of the cafeteria during lunch to spot someone he was certain he had never seen before, smiling (nervously) as he moved towards the girl. âhello, iâm haruto,â he offered her his name first, âi just wanted to say, welcome to kt. and⊠stuff.â wow, he really wasnât very good at this whole âwelcome wagonâ sort of thing, was he? âand, um, if you ever want help with stuff i can⊠help.â maybe he should have thought about writing up a script before coming over here.Â
yoohyeon finds herself sitting alone for lunch, phone unlocked and beaming from where it rest atop the table surface as she scrolls through instagram. truth be told, she would very much be playing teamfight tacticts over surfing the internet, but from past experience, itâs a little safer to stick to the basics. not to say that playing league of legends during her lunch break is bad, still yoohyeon felt incredibly rude when gray came over and she didnât even notice.
thatâs the power of games, she supposes-- social media, to her, is only fun enough to pass the time, but not enough to forget her surroundings. which means she could spot a figure from her side vision, a male approaching, from what yoohyeon observes as she look up. smiling, she is greeting him with a small bow from her seat. âhello, haruto-sunbae!â she says, enthusiastically. gesturing to the free seat, she welcomes him to sit. âthank you~ iâm yoohyeon.â
âGreen tea would be grand!â Scrolling through her phone to check her emails and latest comments in her channels. She occasionally laughs though some comments and is ready to fight others, when Olivia hears Yoohyeonâs follow up question. âWith a drop of honey, please! Also are you sure you donât want any help?âÂ
If only Yoohyeon knew how she felt, despite her dare may care attitude, Olivia is very hyper-aware and protective of her friends. Yoohyeon being one of the top on the list as her best friend, but more importantly, because sheâs started to harbour some infatuations over the older girl. Which only led her to the following thoughts, that she would only voice out once Yoohyeon has settled beside her.
âUff look at you coming for my heart- stop I canât take it!â Placing a hand over her chest and pretending to be hit with the feels, well there really wasnât pretending on her part but Yoohyeon doesnât need to know that. The last thing she wanted was to ruin her friendship with the other girl. She hums along to herself as she waits for the other girl to sit, before asking whatâs been bugging her for the last few days. âSo⊠whyâd you snap and dickless wonder that night, Yoo?âÂ
âWhat if I want your heart, hm? Did you ever think about that?â Yoohyeon teases with another poke of her tongue once returning with the honey, she figures that itâs best for Olivia to decide how much honey she wants for herself. Only then does she flop down on the couch, adjusting her blanket to cover her body from the chest and down to her very tippy toes-- thatâs when the question comes, resulting in a soft sigh as she realise that itâs time to talk already.
Gazing over, Yoohyeon suddenly turns serious as she await a nod. âItâs a long story...â Part of her hopes that it scares the other from wanting to listen, but the nod comes and once again, it results in a sigh. âA few days before that night, I... uh... I had a fight, with my mum-- About...â She pauses often, the last time for a little longer because this is difficult to her, despite having opened up to a good handful already. âAbout money... They needed some money.â
She nibbles at the inside of her lip for a moment, the stare at her fingers which uneasily plays with one another. Tears are ghosting across her eyes, causing rapid blinking as she doesnât at all want to start crying already, lips twiching slightly. âUh, because their refrigerator broke and they were running short. I, uh... typically they rely on me in moments like those, but-- it wasnât long after my birthday and I did the winter singer thingy, then Sphere happened.â
âEven though I turned them down, I wanted to pamper myself, I guess... so... I spent the little savings I had left on some clothes, because... I wanted to learn how to dance...â She sniffles now, trembles even, still feeling bad about being self centred in that time. âNeeded some new clothes, work out clothes! I didnât have any because I donât work out, I couldnât dance in jeans now, could I? So.. yeah, I couldnât help.â Not too bad, really, but not the worst part.
yoga feels like a damn endurance test. chungha has initially chose it because she thought it would be a nice cool down for the day. during training, she never does the optional yoga. sheâs usually in the gym. people say yoga is an activity to centre oneself. you can gain agility, flexibility and it leaves you feeling energised â or so everyone claims. chungha always would take everyoneâs word for it.
now she was going to be able to experience it first hand. but she wasnât sure if she wanted to.
sheâs aware that flexibility and balance were big things for yoga. for that sheâs glad that she never skips out on her stretching warmups before dancing. it isnât much but it does give her more of a leeway when it came to certain poses. her balance was a tad off still but she was trying her best. but as they go back into downward facing dog again, she can only hope they donât need to stay in the pose too long before theyâre able to rest in childâs pose.
âhonestly,â chungha responds breathlessly. her arms were shaking as she tried to hold up the pose properly. it hurt when you were focused on keeping your back and legs straight as you were supposed to. âthis needs a lot of stamina that i thought i had. but i guess i donât.â she exhaled shakily. there were muscles in her body stretching that she didnât know existed.
âif we do crane pose then iâm going to lose it.â
when jennie introduced the class she claimed it to be beginner friendly, but yoohyeon canât but question whether it really is. as she struggle and tremble through the different poses she keep asking herself-- if this is for beginners and she has this much trouble, then what is she? surely, she fall into the category, still she is beating herself down for barely being able to keep a pose for the duration of time they are supposed to. well, they are supposed to listen to their bodies.
which, in the end, she clearly isnât. yoohyeon is both stubborn and uneducated, much like any newbie to the exercise, who believe that they are required to follow the intructor to a tee. no, it isnât like that and likely, that is something she will hear once she returns home to complain. for the most part, if she should be honest, it isnât so bad. mountain pose isnât difficult, nor is all of those foward bends and seated stretches, although, they can be somewhat uncomfortable.
the lunges, however? and the downward facing dog? not to mention, the hero poses? now itâs becoming a little complicated for someone who has never worked out in her life, who does not have balance and strength whatsoever. ultimately yoohyeon is a gamer to the core, which she came to realise very quickly once becoming a trainee. one week into the new lifestyle, and her body is already ready to collapse any second. âwhat?â she said that a little too loudly there.
biting her lip, she remains quiet for another moment before she continues. âcrane pose?â
he could see the look in her face. the one that questioned just exactly what led her to this classroom because he was starting to wonder the same exact thing. what in the world were they doing? his vocal warmups werenât even this bad! it was like he had come for a workout. âi mean maybe itâs a theatre thing? like an acting thing?â he tried to find reason behind the behaviors happening around them with a short laugh, unable to hide the slight humor he got from the situation.
â so trueâŠ. iâve never acted before so i canât really say but itâs like they use actual vocal cord warm-ups but then take it thirty steps further into unknown territory.â he was rather excited about the actual voice acting though and he knew these were stepping stones to get there. he respected the process of learning and never took it for granted. he may be talkative but he listened well when instructors were speaking. âhave you done any acting before or are you totally new to this whole thing?â
lips purses together, the lower one forming a sort of pout whilst she nods in thought, for all she knows itâs absolutely a theatre thing to be this expressive about their warm ups. than again itâs not very likely, in her opinion, vocal actors arenât showcasing their skills through physical acts, they purely rely on their voices to see to it that their message come across. âiâm not so sure, it seems weird to me regardless of the reason behind it.â shrugging, she lets out a chuckle.
gazing over, she smiles as she can relate. although having acting experience, itâs not really an excessive journey she has had, yoohyeon barely dipped her toe into the territory. ânot really, i participated in a small shooting once, but nothing worth mentioning, really. so, i am practically brand new myself.â well, featuring in the upcoming commercial for superstar royal is probably noteworthy, but she canât really bring that up now. not to mention, she barely acted at all.
it was the little thing that he could do for himself in his position where he could care for his voice and better himself as a singer in a way that was affordable for him. heâd never learned in any formal setting and he was never taught by anyone other than youtube vocal coaches who occasionally posted free lessons online. the internet turned out to be his vocal coach and the way to keep him healthy for singing existed in his search history. it hadnât failed him and so he continued to pursue it but to be in a class that would either reaffirm what he knew or teach him new things was something he was very excited about. heâd even brought a notepad.
âi am confident!â he declared without hesitation as he drummed is fingers against the countertops, flashing her a boyish smile. âiâve been a barista for years now and one of my favorite pastimes has been finding drinks to make to help keep my vocal cords healthy. i could probably teach this class.â an overabundance of confidence that he laughed off at the playful joke. âsee?â he pulled the notebook close and flipped through a few pages, the notes detailed and recipes scribbled down on sticky notes neatly arranged. âi could write a book probably.â
despite spending way too much time on the internet, yoohyeon neglected making a routine for varming up her vocal cords for a long time now, blatantly ignoring the vocal teachers she sees online and all their advices to make one immediately. now, she watches their videos, many of them actually informing about the importance and suggestions of simple exercises, but she is simply stubborn enough to stick with her current routine of not giving a fuck. so far, it hasnât at all been a problem to her, but she has to admit there is a difference after singing for a while.
arching a brow, yoohyeon canât help the laugh that emerges in response to his confidence-- it certainly is refreshing and in much contrary to the previous day where they met, for sure. with curiosity, she glances over when he pulls out a notebook to show a couple of pages. âwoah...â yoohyeon lets out a breath, slowly finding her balance back in her seat. âyou sure have done a lot of research, huh? i almost feel embarrassed, i never... really, you know... warmed up.â she says cheekily, somewhat shrinking in her posture with a shy grin lingering on her rosy lips.
