It’s crazy that I’ve already completed four weeks of the current semester. It was a test of endurance and strength with two clinical days and worrying about the first Med/Surg Nursing exam on yesterday. Mentally, it was harder to study the way I wanted without exhausting myself. In the end, I’m happy God helped me through with a B on the exam, which was the hardest exam I’ve taken since nursing school. Also, I won this cute coffee mug during our BINGO review game. So Week 6 of the semester is done ✅. This one was a doozy. Had to stay up late to finish paperwork and had a exam today which I passed. Clinical was pretty good as I’m feeling more and more confident. Now I need to worry about job applications while trying to balance school work. Whew 😅. Just finished my observation day in the surgical/trauma ICU. I have to say that it was an awesome experience and I have so much respect for those of you in critical care. Y’all are the VIPs. Today was officially the end of my third semester of nursing school. I did take my last final two days early to get it over and done lol. To be honest, this semester was rough going in. We had more work and assignments with what felt like less time. And that was before the pandemic!! After that, it became a huge adjustment going to online only. For me, I can’t just read the book to understand everything so being forced to have most it be self study was not fun. However, I had to adjust to make it through. This past week during church service, I was reminded that we all have valleys to go through but you just have to get THROUGH. So this smile represents getting through my personal valley with two B’s, one A, and another grade pending. Nursing school update. Been a little bit since I did one of these. Well, today wasn’t the best day for me. I had an exam today that I thought I felt comfortable about and even during the test felt good. Once I submitted the exam and saw the grade, I was super disappointed. My raw score was worse than my previous exam. I was just frustrated and confused with how to study for this class. Soon after, I went to Whataburger (since that’s my go-to emotional meal) where the worker hoped my day got better since I said it was “just okay.” By the afternoon, we got a message that the class was given credit for three questions. That boosted my grade to the same as the first exam. I’m glad but still frustrated. Nursing school is really testing my emotions on the daily 😕. My emotional day as presented by the queen of reality tv. Honestly it was an exhausting day with an exam I wish I did better on. It’s always nerve-wrecking before the first exam just because you don’t know how the exam reflects the lectures or book. From there, I was just exhausted and barely made through my afternoon class. Nursing school continues to be an emotional rollercoaster. I’m off to a great start to the week. First day of pediatrics at HemOnc clinic was great. Plus I had tres leches cake (not my favorite lol).
