It wasn’t any of his business, and he knew better than to try and pry and make it his business, but… he hated that look on Enji’s face, seeing him so down, he knew the family were strained, knew the reasons, and knew things wouldn’t always go according to what the other hero wanted, but Hawks knew he could help in other ways to hopefully turn that frown upside down.

“Nah” he shook his head, leaning into the embrace simply closing his eyes to savour it “lets switch it up a bit instead, how about this time, I buy you dinner… how’s that sound?” It was rare Hawks offered to spend money on someone, but to make the older man smile, he’d do it… just this once.
