"Yomi, can we talk? I want to bury the hatchet between us."
"Start talking but if you talk a whole lot of nonsense then leave me be." Dead was willing to hear him out. Gods let him not be confusing and irritate her souls. That would be super annoying.
"I'l admit......you're not what I expected you to look like."
"Ahh, my darling Kei, you have once again, unceremoniously...put your foot in your mouth."
A snort.
"So, do tell, what am I supposed to look like, mm? A grumpy old hag with a long nose, perhaps?"
"Are you master's new pet? I saw him pin you down and call you a good girl!" the little raven haired girl said as she looked up slightly to Momo. "I hope Keitaro-sama treats you well, He's a really nice guy."
"Oh, Chi... if you go around advertising that, I'll cook your fucking kidneys."

"Why do I need my own. You've always got one" Rune picked up the lighter and flicked it. She brought the flame up to the tip of her cigarette and drew in a breath.
Calm before the storm.

The Fourth Division was one of the divisions that Rangiku rarely visited, and for all intents and purposes – tried to avoid. However, there was no avoiding it today – given the injury she had sustained during the climactic battle that had now been official dubbed within reports as The Winter War, she had been ordered to see one of the Fourth Division’s medical officers. While she had insisted, she was ‘fine’ – that didn’t nullify the order. She was reminded, repeatedly, the severity of the wound she had realized – that she was ‘lucky to be alive’.
She was aware of that – she was indeed lucky, lucky that Shuuhei and Izuru had been there, that Izuru was able to bring her back from the brink of death, to heal her enough to survive…A sharp inhale broke up the thoughts that were beginning to spiral downwards from that point forward.
Her hand rose to delicately touch her right side of her torso, even through the fabric of her uniform she could still feel the faint raised, marred flesh of her injury – a lasting reminder that she had requested to keep. The silence of the exam room was starting the wear on her nerves as she paced back and forth, pausing to glance out the lone window in that room. She realized she had been holding her breath since she had broken her train of thoughts, a deep, long exhale proceeded to follow at last.
Soft rustling outside the door, alerted her to a presence, at least – she hoped – she could get this over quickly, put the matter behind her and move on.
