David Martinez takes a UD over Rob Font!
Wow. Breakout performance from the Mexican bantamweight. Absolutely exhilarating. Dude looked fantastic out there. Punished Font when he'd step forward. Lots of volume. Finishes the fight by nearly stopping Font, though that's cause Dan didn't listen for the bell. Some real abysmal reffing tonight.
Not sure if Martinez is actually ready for the top ten of bantamweight, one of the deepest top 10s in the sport but he's there now.
Former two-division champion Henry Cejudo will fight No. 8 contender Song Yadong in the main event of UFC Fight Night on Feb. 22 in Seattle,
Henry Cejudo vs Song Yadong and Dominick Cruz vs Rob Font set for UFC Fight Night Seattle on February 22.
Dude, they really want to send Rob Font to the farm. Man went from preparing for a crafty heavy handed (and footed) pocket boxer in Song Yadong to one of the most versatile fleet footed kickboxers in MMA in Cory Sandhagen. I just don’t imagine this going well for Font.
Cory Sandhagen out wrestles Rob Font for 5 rounds.
There was a time in MMA history where we'd get this fight 3 or 4 times a night. Be thankful we're not in that time anymore. Sandhagen is normally an exciting fighter who has been working a lot to shore up his wrestling as of late, so between that and the very late replacement I'm choosing to believe that this is why the fight turned out this way.
