yes i keep saying it but robert, the robert that knew exactly what to do when their car plunged into a lake with them in it, who sprung into action and saved aaron, who did cpr on him and everything

the robert who caught aaron as he was passing out from sepsis and dragged him into his car and drove him to hospital

the robert whose first thought was always how i can i fix this, what i can i do, who hates feeling useless or helpless

that robert saw aaron lifeless at the bottom of the cliff and he was gone. robert now is only panic and hope, he's got nothing left, he's got no plans no reaction beyond sheer panic and screaming for help

Always thought this was a funny visual whenever I played melee’s classic mode. Can you imagine a literal army of children gearing up to chuck baseball bats at your face with full force? I think that would suck ass personally

random robert thought: i know the ga didn't take the jack knowing retcon very well, but i actually think it was beautifully done and slots seamlessly into canon. jack was an old school farmer and there's a storyline about him beating rob before. and even jack never said it was about rob potentially kissing a boy, rob says so himself "he said it was for skiving, but he couldn't look at me for weeks. i knew what it was for". there was no explicit homophobia, but also rob wasn't stupid.

nobody was making out jack to be a raging queer basher, rob says himself that he wasn't that kind of bloke. but jack is exactly of a generation where things like that are fine, just not under his roof, and who wouldn't actually dare to discuss any of it with rob ever again.

as far as soaps retcons go, it's a fairly flawless execution, because it creates a very plausible moment in the past but its consequences in the present are only more ✨ trauma ✨ for robert
