Robby and Shen not even doing anything fancy at first when it comes to meals/dates. Lots of burgers and sharing fries, corned beef sandwiches and half-sour pickles. 24 hour diners help their overlapping shifts.
Robby turning into an absolute dim sum fiend. Robby really really liking hot pot after Shen takes him there for his birthday. Inviting loved ones around a big table and sharing a big meal while we’re all warm in the cheeks and belly.
Ohhh and after all the yummy endeavors Robby’s gonna bitch a lil about the weight he’s gaining, that’s when Shen’s going to be like yeah babe that’s what a gym membership is for.
Robby’s eating well, exercising, getting sweet treats. All the good brain chemicals are pumping and rushing again.
Fuck. Maybe life is worth living.

Werewolf!Robby who's perpetually irritated by the smell of Vamp!Shen because werewolves naturally hate the scent of vampires. But, he finds himself always trying to find the faintest hints of Shen's scent.
Vamp!Shen who, frankly, thinks Werewolf!Robby stinks of wet dog... All musky, and gross, and kind of sexy. Robby's hoodie goes missing the five seconds he leaves it unattended during changeover.
Werewolf!Robby who frequently feels too much because he's just a big sad dog.
Vamp!Shen who's detached, and rather insensitive to quite a lot of the stuff he sees in the ED from his centuries of experience with guts and gore.
Werewolf!Robby who unintentionally gets territorial over Vamp!Shen. Finding Shen drinking blood; first he's mad that Shen is using the ED's blood, then that it's not his.

oh my god, they were neighbors. this is a fic that pretty successfully answers, for my money, the question of what shen's deal is. how is he so chill? what's hiding under there? the emotional reveals and intimacy here are great, and i really enjoy shen's relationship with his mom, too.
