Jordan could have taken Matrims character in a lot of different ways. I think the reasons that I love Mat, is because no matter how he fights it-- he can't stop being a good guy. He never appears to be what he leads on, and in a lot of ways he's like Dean Winchester. He's no bloody hero, but he can't sit back and watch people die.

Also, his humor and fancy for women. I know he's just a character but even I'm charmed by his comments.

Advice?

I have read the first six books of Robert Jordon's "Wheel of Time" series. I have noticed they tend to get harder to get through with each book. There is just so much detail in the books sometimes, and you have to read more for important things to happen. I have started book 7, and I am wondering if I should continue, and try to bear through it til the end of the series? I am currently finishing "A Wise Man's Fear," which is awesome, but I will need some ideas for when I finish it. Will it be worth it to continue with TWoT? Does the story speed up again eventually? I did like a lot of things about the series early on, but I struggled through the last book.
