My experience with Wheel of Time character names is that a lot of them are pretty straightforward historical/mythological references, so they’re easy enough to ‘get’ if you have a solid grounding in that kind of thing.

But the ones I initially look at and go ‘yeah idk what that weird thing is supposed to reference’? Those all end up being Horribly Apropos Puns.

In an Argument with my father who introduced me to the wheel of time series when I was little, both of us are avid fans but have come to a stalemate over the new film.

I am extremely excited to see diversity in the casting and am just glad that the show seems like it might take off, my only problem with casting seems to be the direct opposite of my father. I feel like everyone has been picked well and I love the diversity in it and I feel like they fell short with rand, who would likely look like a red haired Poc. My dad feel like everyone that has been casted ruined the services because it’s not “reflected of the races described in the books”

I want to know other people’s take on the show, are people also excited to see something being made? Are people as happy as me with the casting? Or are people mad about it?

Anyway it’s more of a rant that I don’t feel like will pick up too much on here bc I don’t think I’ve ever seen a large community on here but you know 🤷‍♀️
