tommy playing ripley is the same as an actor playing a serial killer. an actor playing a serial killer doesn’t mean they agree with their beliefs or what they do.

Except serial killer victims are dead or have almost died. Disabled people as a whole are not and not all have. And there has most likely been ableist serial killers who have killed and tried to kill just disabled people. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

And being disabled is a lot more common than being a nondisabled serial killer victim.

Every single disabled person experiences ableism. Every single disabled person is negatively impacted by actions like Tommy's. Every single disabled person is negatively impacted by the mindset that that's okay.

This isn't anywhere near the first time Tommy's been ableist.

If he doesn't agree, he shouldn't have made that awful quote unquote "joke". He shouldn't have done the ableist things he did before.

If he doesn't agree, his actions were still incredibly ableist and awful. Nothing can change that.
