At the suggestion of soushiyo (the artist behind the comic Familiar which is great) on a patreon discord for another great artist, Smuttyrogue (links below), I got Basic Human Anatomy and Dynamic Human Anatomy by Roberto Osti, and am now just drawing skeletons and muscles to learn how they look and feel. Highly recommend!

A Page from the Drawing Papers Archive
This page from Drawing Papers 95 features Shaman in Spring, painted with watercolor on paper by Roberto Osti in 2008.
Osti’s work was part of a Viewing Program exhibition called Day Job, curated by Nina Katchadourian, that examined how the skills, facilities, knowledge or working conditions encountered on the artist’s ‘day job’ infiltrate his or her artistic practice.
Osti, a medical illustrator by trade, applies his skill set to dissect myths and present their creatures as scientifically valid.
The Drawing Papers are a series of publications documenting The Drawing Center’s exhibitions and public programs and providing a forum for the study of drawing. For more information about Drawing Papers 95, click here.
