I was listening to an episode of Raise Your Hand Say Yes with @thetiffanyhan the other day, and it kind of got me thinking on the idea of ‘flow’. If you listen to the Podcast, you probably know Tiffany is big on that. It truly is a deal breaker in any creative practice. When I get frustrated with my work, it’s usually when I am still allowing my conscious mind to overthink my decisions throughout the process. It’s the anxiety, the fear of imperfection that kill any opportunity to let your senses guide you freely. Before getting into any specific work, doing some unnecessary doodling and getting the hand moving is essential. It’s what gets me into my zone, slowly strangling the little annoying perfectionist in my head, and allowing my unconscious to do the work for me. This is part of a short warmup I did today. Will post a finished sketch and a full time-lapse soon. Would love to know what your tricks are to get into your flow mode! –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Credit where credit is due. @roberto_cavalli Dress by @peter_dundas Model: @sasha.vil Photographer: @matteolinguiti_photography Thanks for the inspiration! –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– #robertocavalliss16 #fashionillustration #sketch #ink #dippen #brushpen #doodle #warmup #wip #fashionista #fashion #illustration #art #artist #painting #portrait #instaart #instaartist #drawing #watercolor #artwork #fineart #paint #painting #beauty #art4youu #muse #model #creativity #inspiration #style
