well UNFORTUNATELY me MAKING pie for people is only possible if they are physically close to me.  Even if I’m considering possible takes on mini peach/pecan pies as we speak.

LOL the cat is mentioned on the author’s twitter so it’s only, like, a Word of God cat.  does not appear in the comic #sry2say.

robin!  I don’t even know what to say.

First of all, you have really great meta, when we are doing meta.  And I have had the BEST conversations with you.  (i want to have more.  but i don’t want to bug you, assuming you are otherwise busy/stressed/etc.  jsyk.)

I thank you so much for understanding and enabling SO MANY of my more upsetting and/or inarticulable emotions, lol, as well as SHARING THE SQUEE so wonderfully.  Just.. yep.  All the things I couldn’t put into words at times when our shared fandom got so tough.  THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING THERE, AND SHARING so much crying with me.

ALSO you have wonderful taste in books, and media, and are just fun and available for all sorts of conversations.  (when we’re talking.)  From the most exciting ridiculousness to YOU’RE OKAY AND I”M OKAY TOO even if y’know it doesn’t feel like either of us is.  Thank you for sharing vulnerabilities and helping me feel NOT ALONE <3 <3 <3.

Merriam-Webster literally says I can do either, ha :p.  Which they’d have to or they’d be contradicting either the AP or the Chicago guidelines.  So I’m taking that as license to do what ~looks right to me.  (Which is apparently Anders’, even though I would say it with an extra syllable, because spoken and written English aren’t entirely congruent and as a ‘native speaker’ of both one occasionally does pick up different rules for each!  Or at least I’m assuming that other people do too.)

Also I think the dicing up of modern vs. classical to one- vs. multi-syllable names is cutting way too fine, because who natively follows different rules for those different circumstances? therefore M-W is doing the sort of extra rule adding that can be fun to remember if you do but I think you should feel free to ignore if you don’t.

but before internet when i was wee lass, I wouldn't go anywhere without notebooks and pens, and I would read the encyclopedia the same way I google, and devour JCPenneys catalogs the way I use google images and pinterest. i would sit and make up stories about the babysitters club or harry potter long before I discovered fanfiction. i would draw house plans of where my original characters lived and browse delia's to choose what they wore. So pretty much same as now.

In my free time, reading. With the internet I am still reading but I feel like there is more (maybe too much) access to things I that I fall into like a rabbit hole. I appreciate the access to community (and all our ideas) because I get to feel connected while still being a hermit (as needed).

Books. Books, books, and more books. Crossword puzzles. I actually miss the amount of time I used to spend reading... and yet I love the people I interact with in the interwebs, so a fair trade off, I guess! :)

back before i had the internet, i used to read books all the time! so most likely that?

Hmmm, I since a trend here.... I love that we’d all have our nose stuck in books---which is interesting to think about.  I’m so glad we all have a place to come meet each other. <3 I’d probably be reading, too, but also probably a little lonelier.  

I’d also probably get more writing done, but have less inspiration for it.  :P 

@carojane​ Yes, you’d have to go in a totally different career route! My job wouldn’t be that different; however, I wouldn’t have the internet to figure out what obscure book people wanted.
