Qubic Games Flash Round (Nintendo Switch)
Hi pals! Yes, as usual my honorable attempts to keep updates regular fall away in the face of... well, other things in my life, even with a lockdown on where you’d think all I had to do was play video games. But, of course, as you well know, since mid-March we don’t use our spare time to play video games, we use our spare time to play Animal Crossing, and if we have any spare time from that maybe we think about playing video games but we probably just fall asleep or do something idiotic like read a book or something.
So in the aim of feeding the goddess of content, I thought whenever I was tired of getting annoyed at things in Animal Crossing like how you can’t build a slope next to a slope or how working with rivers is so infuriatingly awkward I’d just roll through all those probably crappy games Qubic Games gave away before Christmas in 2019 and continue to give away every once in a while to try and game the Switch store. Accepting that I’d just stop playing them as soon as I felt like because there’s no achievements (and therefore, no insane, self-enforced, shame). So join me on this trip into this seedy underbelly of mobile ports and maybe some good games?
Oh and I didn’t play the puzzle one or the coloring book one because I’m not fucking five.
Robonauts (Qubic Games): Phoned-in side-scrolling shooter where it feels like they were messing around with characters moving around the circumference of spheres and ended up with this. Enemies just swarm you, bullets sometimes feel like they’re just smashing into the ground due to gravity, it’s clumsy and has a hellish dubstep soundtrack It’s only got 12 levels but the difficulty jumps around level five and it feels like something developed by following a tutorial in Blitz Basic so I’m good.
Should anyone pay money for this? No.
