You know, I feel like the Roboparents in general don't get enough love in the fandom. But in relation to ZADR they're practically non-existent, and I feel like there's some opportunities that are being missed.

Like, Membrane wants to meet his son's boyfriend's family and Zim really wants to impress him. So he tries using more 1950s videos to train the Roboparents to be the model of a traditional family, but accidentally includes a drama show that's about deconstructing the false narrative of the idyllic 50s life. So in the middle of dinner they start making shockingly racist/sexist remarks, insinuating that Robodad is cheating on Robomom and Robomom is an alcoholic on the verge of snapping and murdering Robodad in a jealous rage.

Or Zim accidentally programs the Roboparents to be homophobic by training them on conservative trad family propaganda. But it ends up working in his favor because it makes Membrane sympathetic toward Zim and want to defend him and his relationship with Dib when previously Membrane kinda thought Zim was a weirdo and a bad influence on his insane son.

Previously I've had the idea of the Roboparents getting more sentient and acting more like real people in general following Roboparents Gone Wild. So in a ZADR scenario that could translate to them just naturally taking an interest in their "son's" love life. So you could have jokes where they attempt to offer wholesome dating advice that's complete nonsense. They could learn that it's normal for parents to threaten their child's boyfriend with a shotgun so they just straight up try to murder Dib. Robodad could treat Zim like he's daddy's little princess whose virginity must be protected at all costs while Robomom becomes a creepy boy mom who doesn't want Dib to steal her precious baby boy away. Or they actually really like Dib and treat him like he's already their son-in-law and ask when he and Zim are going to give them grandchildren. Maybe even though Dib knows it's all fake algorithmically generated half-coherent nonsense the facsimile of parental affection still touches his poor heart. Maybe it even makes him realize that even though it's fake and badly emulated there's still some truth to the idea that this is closer to how it should be than what his home life actually is.
