Thinking about Tak using her mind control device to force Perfect Nothing Dib to marry her, so Zim crashes the wedding shouting “I object” in full bridal getup insisting that it is he who Dib should be with.

Tak thinks she’s got Dib wrapped around her finger, but Dib’s feelings for Zim and the pushback he’s been giving him on his brainwashing is making that control wane. To fully break her spell, Zim whips out the nuclear option: he confesses to being an alien and removes his disguise, as well as de-cloaking Tak in front of everyone to prove that Dib was right all along and was never crazy. His act of love does succeed in snapping Dib out of Tak’s mind control, but it’s too heavy for Dib to reconcile with all at once.

While he’s freaking out, Tak uses her device to make everyone forget that Zim just compromised both their identities and bolts. Zim stays behind to usher Dib away from the crowd and take care of him during his panic attack.

In the aftermath, it almost seems like nothing’s changed. Dib is still in denial, Membrane is in denial even though Tak’s device didn’t actually work on him, Zim’s secret is still safe, and Tak hasn’t been defeated. All anyone remembers of the day is that the guy Dib was rumored to have gone crazy for crashed the wedding, Dib had a breakdown, and the bride left him at the alter. Now, everyone who didn’t know about or disbelieved the rumors of Dib’s mental health issues before is very aware of the whole tabloid story. So the whole world is talking about how much Zim and Dib both suck and how bad they feel for poor Tak being humiliated on her wedding day.

Imagine the gut punch of Zim thinking he's finally had a breakthrough with Dib only for Dib to still insist he's faking.

"Look, I get that you wanted to exonerate me since everyone's been scrutinizing my mental health lately. But I don't need my delusions validated, I need to live in reality and accept that I was wrong."

"But you weren't wrong! I really am an alien!"

"Don't be silly, Zim. You can't be an alien. If you were an alien, I wouldn't be the only one who could see it. My father certainly would. And I know how much it hurt him to have to send me away to get the help I needed. He wouldn't have done that if he wasn't certain of my delusions."

And then after that Zim keeps insisting that he is an alien, which leads to Dib thinking, "Oh, he actually believes it. He's as crazy as I used to be. He needs my help to 'dispel' these delusions."

After Zim and Dib have a fight that leads to them separating, Zim builds an AI system based off of a brain scan he got of Dib. It accompanies him for several months in space getting into various adventures with him, and various dangerous situations that could have been avoided had the Ai's paranoia and excitement not gotten the better of it (what can I say? It, quite literally, takes after Dib).

Despite many alien allies and enemies telling him that his AI is defective and not working right, Zim refuses to "fix" it or scrap it and start over, no matter how much he's told to and how many Situations™ it ends up getting him into.

After all, it is working as intended.

Imagine it goes like Dibship Rising where the AI thinks its the real Dib and an imposter is trying to steal Zim away from him when they're trying to reconcile, so he tries to eliminate him. Then once it finally realizes it's not Dib it deletes itself once again because it knows it can never really have Zim but it can't live without him.

Dib thinks it's cute at first how paternal Zim is being until he learns he kidnapped those children and pays a for profit prison to keep their dad locked up. Zim doesn't want to let go of the arrangement because he's trying to heal his inner child by giving them the attention and affection he was always denied, but Dib eventually convinces him to do the right thing and let the kids go back to their real father

Since your drawing a bunch of zim's with their dibs. May I give an idea? Palindrome.

I know his dib has laser eyes (as said by himself) but they would fit in the Subnautica world. Dib a research (wanting to catch dib) and Zim his annoying deep sea follower (because playing with dib is fun).

It could be that this Dib is very fascinated with the mysteries of the ocean and the idea that there's so many undiscovered species (and cryptids) that are hiding in the depths that have not been explored by humans. He has an aquarium at home and likes to capture any creature that he considers rare (that includes Zim)

I bet Zim has tried to drown him before, as well as saved Dib from drowning or from other predators that tried to eat him

As for the laser eyes, idk, it could be him having the technology to see in the dark in the form of something like lasers. Ty for the request (⁠人⁠*⁠´⁠∀⁠｀⁠)⁠｡⁠*ﾟ⁠+

I like to think that either Palindrome mutated himself into an aquatic creature as an alternative to covering himself in glue to deal with his water allergy and Dib got really into the mysteries of the ocean as a way to keep up with him. Or Dib was already into paranormal ocean phenomena and was finding like, ancient weapons from Atlantis or something, so Zim tried to one-up him by mutating himself into a sea creature thinking he'd be able to mind control Krakens and Leviathans to do his bidding like Aquaman.
