How harsh is the grading for the robot project?
Response from Penelope:
depends on your teacher, but for most people, your overall grade will prolly land between a b+ to an a but its overall skewed towards an a i think?
What do you do after the robot project in the 4th quarter of tech?
Response from Nagini:
Literally nothing, you work on the IBET project or clean the tech rooms.
Response from Penelope:
I had a teacher that isn’t at TJ anymore but we had another project that was p chill

back wheel drive robot disadvantages?
Response From Fleur:
It really depends on your robot.
It’s really only a problem if it prevents your robot from going straight based on the design or causes another issue.
Good luck!
are bigger back wheels on robot with front wheel drive ok?
Response From Fleur:
That should be alright. I hope it works/worked out.
The only exception where I think this might not work out well would be if your back wheels were so much bigger than the front wheels or the weight of the back of the robot so much more than the front that your front wheels couldn’t drive the robot as well as the back ones could.
Good luck!
how do you do 4 wheeled robots? we only get 2 servos
Response from Aurora:
Two of the wheels wouldn’t have servos, and the other two would. My robot will be four wheeled, and only the two front wheels will have servos attached.
Response From Fleur:
Only two of your wheels should be driven. Each servo is connected to one wheel. Either your front or back two wheels will have servos that spin them. The other set of wheels just roll. They don’t have servos attached to them.
Another tip, each wheel should be connected to its own axel and be able to move independently of the other wheels if when the axel spins, the wheel also spins, which is the case for many freshman robots I’ve seen.
Good luck!
