I tuned into Dropout 24/7 for the first just in time to watch Gorgug die.
Adaine is actually really tragic because while she's afraid of outliving all of her mortal loved ones, she will probably be the first to die.
She's the elven oracle. The elven oracle is doomed to die young. For all of her powers of divination, she can't escape her fate.
This year im going to highschool and my brain decided to have social anxiety and to be socially awkward, after living normally my whole life, in the worst moment it could choose. So… how do i change that?
Watching Fantasy High (Freshmen Year) again and I got to the bit where Gorgug pulls the "Are you my dad" schtick on Gorthalax the Insatiable and I just. Fig's respons to the idea of Gorgug, this awkward barbarian she's already so protective of that she wont let him be alone with the clearly cruel teacher, the one she encourages to play music with her--could be her half-brother is so sweet? Like it was very quickly glossed over as Brennan/Gorthalax shoots the idea down but IDK, that must've really meant something to Gorgug to have someone be so fucking jazzed by the idea of having him in his family, espeically when you take into account that Wilma and Digby were effectively disowned by their own families for taking him in, you know?
the American high school experience
mine in the crowd
The gym is loud.
Not just loud like cheering loud. Loud like your chest is vibrating, like every sound is crashing into you at once and you can’t even hear yourself think.
You’re standing in the student section, hands gripping the railing, heart somewhere in your throat as the clock winds down.
Freshman year wasn’t supposed to feel like this.
Not this intense. Not this important.
But there she is.
KK.
Running the floor like she owns it, hair pulled back, jersey slightly wrinkled from the game, sweat catching the light every time she moves.
You’ve been watching her all game.
Trying not to make it obvious.
Failing.
The score is tight. Too tight.
Someone next to you leans over, shouting something about overtime, but you barely hear it.
Because KK has the ball.
And suddenly, nothing else matters.
Ten seconds.
She crosses half court, quick, controlled, eyes scanning.
Five seconds.
A defender presses up on her, close, too close, and you feel your stomach twist.
Three seconds.
She shifts, quick step, space opening just enough.
And then she shoots.
The buzzer goes off as the ball leaves her hands.
Everything freezes.
For half a second, the whole gym holds its breath.
Then the net snaps.
Game over.
The place explodes.
You don’t even realize you’re yelling until your throat burns, jumping with everyone else as the team rushes her.
KK just hit the game winner.
As a freshman.
Of course she did.
You’re still trying to catch your breath when you notice it.
People crowding her. Teammates first, then coaches, then a couple girls from the other team even stepping in to dap her up.
And then…other girls.
From the stands.
Leaning over, calling her name, smiling a little too hard, a little too interested.
You feel it immediately.
That tight, annoying feeling in your chest.
You try to ignore it.
You really do.
But then one of them gets closer, laughing, touching her arm like they know her.
And something in you just…shifts.
You look away, jaw tightening, pretending to check your phone like it suddenly matters more than anything that just happened.
It doesn’t.
You just don’t wanna see that.
A few minutes later, the crowd starts to thin, people heading out, still buzzing from the win.
You stay where you are, leaning against the railing, trying to act normal.
Trying not to think about how she didn’t look for you right away.
Then you hear it.
“Yo.”
You look up.
KK’s standing right in front of you.
Still a little out of breath, jersey damp, eyes locked on you like you’re the only person left in the gym.
“Where you go?” she asks, brows pulling together slightly.
You blink. “I’ve been right here.”
She shakes her head, stepping closer. “Nah. You were just over there. Then you dipped.”
You shrug, trying to play it off. “You had fans to deal with.”
It slips out before you can stop it.
Her expression changes immediately.
“Fans?” she repeats.
You nod toward the court. “Yeah. Looked busy.”
There’s a pause.
Then she steps even closer, crowding your space just enough to make your breath catch.
“You serious right now?” she says, voice lower.
You shrug again, but it’s weaker this time. “I’m just saying.”
KK studies your face for a second.
Then she lets out a quiet breath, shaking her head like she just figured something out.
“That’s what that was?” she murmurs.
“What?”
“You getting all quiet on me.”
You roll your eyes. “I wasn’t—”
She cuts you off, stepping closer until there’s barely any space between you.
“I hit a game winner,” she says, voice low, steady. “And the first person I was looking for was you.”
Your heart stutters.
“I just got stuck over there.” she adds, nodding back toward the court. “You think I care about them?”
You don’t answer.
Because you don’t trust your voice right now.
KK tilts her head slightly, eyes locked on yours.
“I don’t.”
Your breath catches.
She reaches out, hand brushing your wrist, then sliding down to lace your fingers together like it’s the most natural thing in the world.
“I care about you,” she says, softer now.
The noise in the gym feels distant again.
Like it’s just the two of you.
“You were looking at me like that all game,” she adds, a small smirk pulling at her lips. “Don’t act like you weren’t.”
Your face heats up instantly. “I was not—”
She laughs, low and quiet.
“You were.”
Her thumb brushes over your hand, grounding, steady.
“Next time,” she murmurs, leaning in just a little, “don’t walk away.”
Your heart is racing now.
“I wasn’t—”
She cuts you off again.
But this time it’s with a kiss.
Quick.
Soft.
Right there in the middle of the half-empty gym.
You freeze for half a second, then melt into it, hand tightening in hers.
She pulls back just enough, forehead almost touching yours.
“Mine,” she mutters, barely above a whisper.
Your breath comes out shaky.
“Yeah?” you whisper back.
Her smirk returns, just a little softer this time.
“Yeah.”
And honestly
after that shot
after the way she looked at you
you don’t even try to argue.
I’m officially done with freshman year and am now a sophomore! I pass all my high school exams, and I’m so ready to just be able to draw this summer.
(please send in asks for art I need stuff to draw this summer. I’m still working on the zoetrope one but then I’ll get to others)
also in celebration: new post tag since the old one was poorly drawn and rushed 💔
School is back!
I’m now a freshman at high school!!! Ofc I don’t exactly like school all that much, but now things are different!
If I manage to get a 9+ on all my subjects, I get to leave school during may, June and July! Isn’t that AMAZING 😻
Genuinely I gotta study so hard, it’s a LOT of subjects and exams and projects, especially since I’m doing EXTRA online classes!
But omg study girl era activated 🎀🧠
Wish me luck 🍀🤍
