Reworked Barracuda BS by Denis Zholob.
Some time ago Denis made rework of his Barracuda Drone model. Since his first trial he drastically improved in his rendering skills and the result is a fresh look on futuristic Police bot. The design is originally based on my old sketch. Unfortunately, I had no time to post it immediately, I hope he will forgive me that. ;) Many thanks to Denis for sharing the coolest rework.
Sketch Jam 2
Another calm weekend "Sketch Jam". We had great enjoyment talking and drawing mecha. If you in the area next time, join us. Participators: Vadim and me. Medium 6 legged drone. Medium support manned and unmanned 4 leg walkers.
BSLA Drone, work in progress.
Ok here we go... Work in progress on BSLA drone in Cinema 4D. Working on design of drone which derives from initial drawings. The project is moving slowly, just because I'm learning the program and its features. One of the main tools I using is Body Paint. Awesome thing that it alows to paint over surfaces with ease just like in Photoshop. Also, I found that the final render may look like it is drawn in Photoshop. And I like it a lot. The big wonder is that now I can make an animation which stylized as quick 2D matte painting. So, later in plans, to try a turntable animation. Few images to your attention. To be exact, 15. Clay, kinda, which is very helpful to initiate morphology and see where are bad surfaces. The drone has flat fuselage packed with electronics, however it contains lockers for canopy connection at the frontal part of the bottom. The canopy is optional and will be modeled on much later stage. On this renders I tried to work on clean white surface adding some basic details. Later, I added more details like ribs in the middle, which didn't worked, imho. But the brake flips are looks ok, so I left them for future animation. The overall shape looks dynamic and well balanced. A specially from top. This is just stunning view. A separate story. The story of jamming with very talented guy, promising designer and good friend of mine Vadim Motov. To develop a more detailed look I made a render then overpainted it. The first drawing I made was kinda very initial and I felt it was not that good, so I asked Vadim, of what he thinks regarding the design. Vadim took it very seriously and applied cool tweaks on the sleeky body. Double tail and triangular intake, opening in the middle and some rigid wing connectors. Nice, ha! At some level I'm going to use several details from his sketch. After the experiment, I started to test Body Paint feature trying to nicely lay parting lines and markings. Something really surprising happened with the surface when I applied various grays on surface. It became kinda dirty and weared body with a look of quick Photoshop render. Lovely appearance. Few more additional details here. The flip has a hydraulic cylinder. See, that chrome tube there? And the frontal sensors unit with glowing eye. Up to now, this is the result. It is not finished yet, but the direction is seen.
Mecha worm
Experiments.
Hover Tank
Levitating lightweight tank with compressed infrared beam cannon.
BS Priest
Semi-cybernetic drone jet from 32nd Intelligence Cluster.
BS Barracuda military version
BS series hovering spy device by Semiconductor Robotic Aeronautics. To this model, unlike previous BS Barracuda, added some details like nice green LED's at the right wing and white on the top end of the main body. On both sides completed a combined connection system that service the mounting of different tracking devices and other technical improvements. That in general, gives more completed look to this concept.
P.S: This tail is does not have to stand on rules of aerodynamics.
