It had been a simple prank, really.
Illusions had always been Loki's forte, and he'd certainly used his abilities to his advantage, fooling a couple cops with -- well, childish jokes, really. Humiliation played a key role in such games, and he hadn't hesitated to dip into such horizons this time, either. But, naturally, he couldn't let his own work go appreciated without acknowledgement towards the artist, himself--
And so Loki had allowed himself to be seen. Now, playing such tricks as a full-grown man wouldn't be nearly as satisfying as allowing the police to believe they'd been fooled by a mere child; so Loki remained as one, emerald eyes gleaming as a peal of laughter escaped his scrawny self.
As soon as the police officers looked at him, teeth grit in frustration, he knew it was time to make a run for it. Grinning triumphantly, the trickster whirled around, darting off while the ground appeared to open up before the police with a low rumble: A terrifying, gaping crevasse. One of the cops veered to a halt with a shout, though the other was too slow, instead tripping and tumbling down right upon the illusion -- causing it to melt away with an ebbing golden glow.
Loki kept running, gaze darting about in a calculating manner as he searched for a proper route. The police were falling far behind, thanks to his distractions, and so the faux-child swiftly turned a corner --
Before he immediately collided with someone else. A grunt escaped him as he tumbled down from the sheer force of their accident, head feeling rattled. Yes.. Being a child certainly did have it's downsides.
