Koa stood at a crosswalk in Inkopolis Square, contemplating which direction she should go next as she waited for the walk signal to light up. She had been looking for a particular coffee shop that a friend had recommended to her -- hilariously enough, she had actually been there before -- but for some reason she couldn’t quite remember exactly where it was. She knew the name, Coffink Café, but that wasn’t enough. She needed to remember something, anything that could help her find the place.
The signal lit up and she walked with the crowd.
“Let’s see...” she muttered to herself as she made her way across the street and down the sidewalk. “I remember going this way... And I think it was next to a---”
Cue an abrupt stop, a dumbfounded expression momentarily flashing on her face when she saw the familiar sign in the window next to her. She sighed softly, shaking her head a little at herself before she pushed the door to the café open, the gentle ring of the bell above the door signaling her entrance. The place was far from busy, with only a few people sitting at their tables and quietly enjoying their drinks. She made note of the soft music that filled the air. It was nice, not obtrusive or obnoxious, and she could definitely see herself spending some time here when her schedule allowed.
She walked up to the counter, her gaze focused on the menu for a moment before shifting to the barista.
“Uh, hi.” she said, a feeling of recognition washing over her when she got a good look at his face. Had they met before? “Do you have any recommendations? I’ve only been here once before and I... don’t exactly remember what I got back then.”
